Your covenant choice?

Hello fellow locks, with more and more info coming out about covenants my choice keeps swapping back and forth. Obviously a lot of things could change between now and launch; but thematically which covenant looks best to you and which will you be choosing?

Venthyr for the following reasons

  1. Impending Catastrophe as an AOE seems like it would always be strong/a safe choice
  2. Vampire Teleport with Soulbind modified landing (eg AOE stun) slaps
  3. I am Roman Catholic in real life and Revendreth is literally just Catholic Purgatory But Vampires In WoW
  4. I love the Castlevania franchise and Revendreth is WoW Castlevania
  5. I headcanon my Belf Warlock as a Magister/Blood Mage part of Kael’thas’s retinue into Outlands, who brought back the fel crystal technique, so him being able to reunite with Kael’thas and him realizing how much he hurt his people is cool and nice from a meta perspective.
  6. I have multiple xmog dedicated to the theme of each spec. So Affliction tends to be Old God centric or Necromancer centric, but Venthyr/Vampire would work beautifully for this end.

Well, with the information we have I would choose Necrolord… As a full dps caster that we are, I see no reason to choose the best looking covenants or the utility one. Necrolord seems to have the best throughput of dps for us right now, I could be wrong and maybe things will change until release date. But I’m betting on it right now.

I’ve yet to take a look at a single covenant ability, and I should really familiarize myself with all of them. Gonna stay tuned into this thread to see what others are running.

I haven’t 100% decided for my warlock yet but it will likely come down to either the Necrolords or Venthyr. Currently I prefer the Necrolords when it comes to xmog options and cosmetics but I still need to learn more about the covenant abilities for both and then I’ll make my decision from there.

I’d much rather go Night Fae because visually it’s my favorite zone but if I’m going to main this warlock, I don’t think it would be very fitting for her. Plus my druid and hunter are going Night Fae 100% lol.

As a mistress of Fel Technology and demonologist supreme none of the covenants perfectly match my ambitions but I would think the Venthyr come the closest to what I want. I couldn’t care less about the abilities, it’s just the look and the story that interest me.

Yeah I feel the same way about my warlock as well. I don’t think any of them really fit her. I prefer the necrolord cloth set over the venthyr but at the same time I think my DK would fit necrolords much better but I rarely play my DK these days so idk.

My main is a DK and I have to go necrolords for her. It just fits and I’m loath to play the same covenant with more than one character.

Yup I don’t really want to have to do the same covenant more than once either so that’s why I’ve been so indecisive about this. Only reason both my druid and hunter are going night fae is because I like both the mail and leather sets lol. I need them both! :joy:

Maldraxxus.

Has the most lore chars who are badass. Also I want to play around with decimating bolt being empowered by sacrificed souls.

Torn between Necrolord and Venthyr.

Decimating Bolt has the best effect for raiding, and especially with the drain soul legendary effect looks like it’ll give us some great execute damage.

Impending Catastrophe looks pretty clearly like the best ability for M+, though.

Ignoring gameplay, Venthyr because I want a vampire dating sim.

not sure but, i wish blizz would have asked me for input on the necrolords constructs cause rather than lil eddie i think a obnoxious dead guy in a vase named Urnie would have been better.

I’m going to wait until like a week before release before I put too much thought into it. With all this stuff getting chewed up in beta, I think my answer might change by the time it releases.

I’ll go Necrolord

Warlock’s theme is full of skulls and other dead stuff like souls and sh!t. Fits well with the necrolords.

Still debating between Necrolords and Venthyr. I love the lich set necrolords offer, but I love the whole aesthetic the Venthyr have.

Being a forsaken you already have a lich-like persona so you should consider leaning into it with the necrolords

My thoughts precisely.

Im going to go Night Fae or Kyrian. Tying this to my characters lore will be interesting I am leaning toward a " As we continue to take on increasingly dangerous foes, Warlocks require more and more power to defend Azeroth. This puts us at risk of being utterly consumed by fel. The Night fae and Kyrian provide a means of balancing out this increased exposure to the dark magics. " narrative.

Also…soul rot and the ability to shift into a spirit animal of your choice seems dope.

I always wanted to be a warlock kerubin, so…kyrian

There’s Shadow stuff in both Kyrians and Fae, so you’re good
