Your bet? Class ratios Most popular etc

Hi, what do you think will be the most popular classes from “Most” to “Least” ?
Here’s my guess:

  1. Warrior
  2. Rogue
  3. Hunter
  4. Mage
  5. Priest
  6. Sham/Pal
  7. Warlock
  8. Druid

here we go again…

Eh, I’ll bite

1: Rogue
2: Warrior
3: Priest
4: Sham/Pal
5: Mage
6: Hunter
7: Warlock
8: Druid

Im a bit uncertain on the middle of my list but I can very easily see rogues being everywhere. As for hunter being so low? I feel taming pets has probably lost it’s magic for most people after almost 15 years.

  1. Hunter
  2. Rogue
  3. Warrior
  4. Mage
  5. Priest
  6. Sham/Pal
  7. Lock
  8. Durid

Put Lock above sham/pal if you split them up.

okay fine, I’ll give you my list.

  1. Warlock

  1. Warrior / Rogue
  2. Mage
  3. Hunter
  4. Priest
  5. Sham/Pal
  6. Warlock
  7. Druid

Rogue #1
Warrior #2
Hunter #3
Mage #4 / Warlock #4
Priest #6
Pally / Shaman #7
Druid #8

And the middle is muddy though. But I see Rogues as #1 simply because of the ganking, pvp, and pve damage factors.

In the starter and low level zones:
Mage
Rogue
Warrior
Hunter
Priest
Warlock
Shaman
Druid

This is class ratio list #6900.

According to private server statistics, which should likely reflect what we’ll see in Classic given the volume of players, mages will be the most played class at level 60 at around 20% of the population. Druids are the lowest at around 5-6% depending on faction.

If I remember correctly the order was something like this looking at level 60s by faction

Horde:

  1. Mage 21%
  2. Warrior 15%
  3. Rogue 15%
  4. Hunter 13%
  5. Priest 10%
  6. Warlock 10%
  7. Shaman 8%
  8. Druid 5%

Alliance:

  1. Mage 20%
  2. Warrior 15%
  3. Rogue 15%
  4. Hunter 13%
  5. Paladin 11%
  6. Priest 10%
  7. Warlock 10%
  8. Druid 6%

Something like that. I know the percentages don’t quite add up to 100% but there’s some decimals in there.

Woot! I’m the highest coming in at #8. Leaving those #7 and #6 people in the dirt!

Higher numbers are better right?

Are rogues really that popular?

I wonder how much popularity polls will impact players choices. Not wanting to play the ones that are saturated etc.

There’s only 7 classes… You’re going to see a lot of every class.

Pure DPS classes are the most popular. The only exception is warlocks for some weird reason. I really don’t know why. IMO warlocks are the best and most fun pure DPS class.

There are in fact 9. 8 available to each faction.

Let me guess, you said 7 classes, because you can’t roll a Shaman on Alliance or a Paladin on Horde?

Feel free to list of those 7 classes.

Shhhh, I want to see them come to that realization :stuck_out_tongue:

It’ll probably be identical to the private servers that have all been identical with each other

Warriors
Mages
Rogues
Hunters
Warlocks
Priests
Druid/Paladin/Shaman

It’s because Mage will always be the most popular caster in every game that has them. Warlocks have always been seen as a sub-category of caster, whereas Mage is just synonymous with caster.

subjective because of one reason, people that use pserver data to justify anything when it comes to raiding based on classes and “spec”.

I agree that druid will be more rare because of how they work. Druid is the only class that gets all three resources for using abilities, while also trying to maintain mana usage. And this is the reason why I find them to be one of the “hardest” classes vs all.

Private servers don’t show warriors as the most populated class at 60. They show them as the most populated overall. I think that’s an important distinction to make because warriors will be the most commonly burned out on class. Given the difficulty of leveling one many will switch classes before hitting 60 on their warrior.
