We all have that one moment we won’t ever forget while playing this game. I want to here it
Set aside all the current drama and let’s have a nostalgic chill session, tell me a story.
Edit: Thanks for sharing your memories! I loved reading them so far! Keep them coming!

I remember getting stuck in the Blood Elf starting zone and quiting. Then my cousin helped me escape and I haven’t quit ever again
It seems like I could never escape lol

I remember creating a death knight for every member of Metallica. Then I realized Metallica sucks… So I had to delete all them and create one for every member of system of a down. Only to realize they sucked too lol

I played once when I was younger back in classic and I was horrible. I threw away my hearthstone for bag space and got stuck in the barrens as a night elf. I spent the rest of my time walking around in horde areas and hanging with whoever came around till I stopped playing for like 10 years.
That or when a crazy fight ensued when I haymakered a zandalari off a cliff and he floated back to wreck me

My first time stepping through the Dark Portal.
I have two video game memories that truly blew me away, and that’s one of them

The night during WotLK when my group were doing a 25 man Naxx. We were on Thaddeus and about to wipe. I called out in vent for everyone to run to the door to save time for rezzing. I was playing blood, cause it made the most sense to me for a tanking spec (people used to laugh at me.)
For a solid 45 seconds, I was up there soloing the boss. My life was fluctuating, so I figured I had a healer who was decent and stuck back with me. I then hear in vent, “… so, I guess we’ll just let Zach solo the boss.”
I swiveled my camera around immediately and realized I was by myself, everyone else was dead by the door. My rotation went to crap and I ate dirt. We all laughed and talked about it for awhile afterward.
Or the time we 3 manned Heagan on the dance. That was pretty awesome too.
And finally, the time me (DK), a feral Druid, a resto Druid, and a Ret pally took over an entire quarter of Stormwind. At one point, they got me … so the feral breezed me, he fell so the resto ressed him, then we pushed all the mobs of Alliance back down the tunnel. That was awesome.

2 first time entering Stormwind. 2nd hitting 60 for the first time turning in a quest at the top of that tower in Silithus.
Actually 3. Questing in northern Redridge and creeping up towards Burning Steppes and seeing skull mobs.

My first time through the DK starting area during WotLK, it was AMAZING!!
Basically spending like a whole day or something downloading the original WoW on my crappy PC and internet(back in '05). But getting into the game and playing it for the first time was a feeling I cannot ever experience again in this game.
I think I got to like level 6 on my night elf hunter on the first night. I was still in school and didnt want to go to bed haha

When I mained a rogue (badly I must add) and Blinkstrike dropped during a guild Kara run, everyone immediately said I should get it, was so awesome. I was co-gm and generally passed on everything in favour of guildies getting it, if nobody did then I would use it, but Blinkstrike was something I had actually farmed for.
They made me equip it and enchanted it on the spot, was very cool
Several weeks later I was politely asked if I could play my priest, that’s how bad I was lmao!

The time a “female” guild member that always grifted people for runs and whatnot forgot their voice changer and outed themselves as a dude in vent then promptly gquit.

This is funny. On my garbage pc and with my dial up Internet. It took me a full week of starting after work restarting it before I went to work of downloading to get the game and patches. It would dc after a while or I’d have to stop it if someone needed the phone lol.

Probably have to be new years eve back in 09, some of my guldies were on and not going out for new year’s and we decided for the hell of it to go and try for the undying in naxx… Well we managed to get it with relative ease shockingly enough and it was a ton of fun. Its the title I flaunt on all of my toons to this day just because of how prestigious it was back then.
during BC I would play my resto druid casually for farm content or for subbing in when we were light a healer. My guild at the time got their first Illidain kill with me on my druid topping meters while playing the old Bejeweled addon while healing because I was bored. They wanted me to stick with my druid instead of my plan switch to DK when Wrath dropped.
I was level 39, getting close to 40, and on the boat to Stormwind (was a nelf at the time). There was another player on the boat, casually sitting on his mount, which I was looking at jealously. All of a sudden he whispers me…’ I bet your feet hurt’.
I almost fell out of my chair, I was laughing so hard! I leveled, begged gold from my son, and got my mount later that evening.

One that still makes me laugh involved my character dying.
I’m a level 90 monk and I’m being nice by taking a friend of mine through molten core. Nothing can touch me of course. Near the start of the raid he aggroed some mobs so I hit Roll to close in and kill the mobs.
Except I didn’t hit Roll. I hit Flying Serpent Kick.
Right. Into. The. Lava.
I predictably died before I could get to safety.
As my health starting tanking my friend said “did I do something wrong?”
Butterfingers FTW!
I snuck into the Cataclysm beta through someone’s guild that didn’t want to play Cata. It was loads of fun.
Zombie Plague Scourge Invasion pre-WotLK event.
Good times.

Best memories, in chronological order
1.My first raid back in Vanilla. Raided once on the mage in Molten Core. Got the Staff of Dominance (also my first raid epic). That was a fun night.
-
2nd raid, also in Vanilla, the next week. Raided on my rogue because the raid alliance had way too many casters and only a couple of melee. Got my first epic on the rogue, Brutality Blade. Loved it so much the rogue stayed my main all the way up until early this year.

FLYING! That first time in BC that I mounted the griffon, hit the space bar, and took flight. I think I did nothing but fly around Outland for about 3 hours because it was so fun.
-
In the early days of 2v2 arenas, I made a team with a friend of mine, Lovvy. We thought it’d be fun to do 2 rogues. He went sub, I went combat. We went up against another 2 rogues team. I got sapped, and Lovvy got ganked and kill inside of about 5 seconds. While I was sitting there CCed the two enemy rogues /lauged and /taunted me. Sap came off, I hit evasion, blade flurry, and killing spree and killed both of them before evasion wore off. I still laugh at this one.

Killing Illidan for the first time. BT took a lot of effort from a lot of people. We got the 3rd kill on our server. We never did get a warglaive to drop, but man we had fun.
-
Killing Arthas. Similar to Illidan. It felt like an incredible accomplishment, and the lore leading up to it all expansion made it exciting, and it was such a fun fight.
-
Getting Warglaives xmog on the DH. This felt like vindication. The guild I was in during BC had been killing Illidan for months before 3.0 came out and we never got a warglaive to drop. Night of 3.0, something like 6 guilds that had been stuck on him for all of those months killed him that night and had warglaives drop. Finally getting to use them - even if it is 12 years after the fact - feels like a massive wrong was righted. And they look awesome.
