"You won't even notice your flight whistle is gone!"

Yes. Yes I do. In the middle of nowhere to do a WQ, and my options are

A] Hoof it while watching YouTube
B] Hearth and fly back while watching YouTube

Maybe I haven’t advanced my travel network enough, but I’m definitely not seeing any ease of access anywhere that replaces the whistle.

Who said that and link to it XD

I miss my flight whistle :frowning:
And I don’t like the Maw,.

I personally don’t mind running around as it gives me an excuse to actually gather the flowers I’ll need later on. But that’s just me.

I remember people saying there were “fun” new ways to get around? Where and what are they?

Yep. The flight whistle’s absence isn’t crippling, but it’s just one of many annoyances with Shadowlands that are causing me not to log in. Simply put: death by paper cuts is still death. And my interest is dying.

The venthyr mirrors. Problem is, you apparently have to find them. And I’ve seen all of, like, two.

Bro it’s part of the new enjoyment system. No mount in the maw, no flight whistle, no flying. I hear next expac they will require you to walk around in zones. And not run, I mean walk. That way you can truly enjoy the scenery on your March through the forest. Yay.

I notice the absence of the flight whistle very acutely. I have no problem running, mind, but when I have to go in an area with a LOT of mobs, especially elites, in a small amount of space, it’s really a pain. We left all this behind for a reason when we added the whistle, why did we take a step backwards.

I’ve unlocked a few blood mirrors in revendreth but they are so very in the middle of nowhere too.

You get 3 quests directing you to activate them.

The Maw has a device like the flight whistle. Gotta buy it.

It’s so awful.

The zones are great, but there is way too much obstruction and stuff in terms of walls, buildings, verticality and such.

Funny how that works … anything to keep people engaged in that horrid place XD

Not until legion. WoD they were still originally planning on having flying right at max level, then they weren’t.

No it was not.

I thought he had said that cause we were getting flight with the first patch. For some reason also I had all the flight points on my first play through, and now on my alts I don’t have any flight points lol. Was it a bug the first day, is it a bug now? Not sure

The travel network is only for your covenant’s zone so it will be of zero help when doing things in the other 3 zones (which even your own covenant tells you to do, almost every day).

The fastest option while doing WQ’s or walk-in dungeons is often to hearth and fly back. Which is sad.

Particularly fun are things like going out into western Ardenweald to do Tirna Scithe with things like the Wild Hunt WQ are blocking it.

I’m sure it’s fine for people who just sit in town and queue all day (and get automatically teleported to their destination). Then they can come to the forums and call everyone “lazy”.

You get 2 when you first unlock the network. Others show up once you can save enough anima and souls to get the other ranks.

Even then. Revendreth still has stuff like sinrunners, the bats you can give rubies to fly around with, and carriages if you wanna get around

I don’t even know how a new toon gets a flight whistle. Go to Legion?

WoD had Aviana’s feather which tossed you high in the air and you glided down to the ground slowly.

The devs didn’t allow Aviana’s feather to be used in Legion zones and they introduced the flight master’s whistle instead.

the maw has some type of whistle-like thingie to bring you back to camp at least.
ive def been missing my whistle everywhere else tho.

im surprised goblin glider kits are still so cheap since its the ultimate time saver these days.
