They can limit whatever they want, then you can still have your toon.
Most of the people that want to bring there toon to tbc don’t want to do it for the gold.
Also there will be worse issues than crap you took with you from classic if they make everyone start a new toon.
Good example would be there would be no incentivisation to roll ally if everyone is starting fresh.
That means no ally.
Not sure about other people but I like doing bgs.
No.
Not everyone will be in Naxx gear, gear less than Naxx gear gets replaced very rapidly, and this is how it was with TBC launch.
This post was weaponized IQ degradation.
Last I checked, The Burning Crusade was an expansion set to World of Warcraft, not a standalone game. No one was forced to restart when it was released 13 years ago.
I like how his post starts out like it’s a fact and then basically ends with him stating why in his opinion you should not be able to carry your character over.

Well I had a good response typed… but the mods deleted it. You are left with this smoldering crater where a once valuable post stood.
[This post is being unnecessarily censored by Blizzard until July 2nd.]
The only valid you point you made is about gold already being inflated past where it was at the end of TBC. If epic flying cost were adjusted for current inflation so that it siphoned an equally significant amount of gold out of circulation, the training would cost upwards of 20k; and some players would still find it easily affordable. So there does need to be a liquid gold limit when moving a classic character into TBC because whoever wins the epic flying race uncontested will strangle the TBC economy to death and kill the whole xpac before it’s had a chance to start.
In terms of gear, only trinkets and ranged slot items will survive the new TBC itemization and ilvl spike past level 68 gear. Even then, most old trinkets will have reduced effectiveness if used past level 63 or w/e.
If you really want to start pointing fingers and laying blame for any of this, point them right at Activision Blizzard. Hiring more GMs wasn’t worth preventing bots from nuking the classic economy by the end of the first month.
When BC was released, yes. Now, it’s kind of…weird…with…stuff…
Simply put, we don’t know IF, much less HOW or WHEN.
I think Blizzard will give us the option to transfer/copy your Classic character to a TBC server with restrictions. Folks will be to butt hurt if they dont. If they do, starting lvl on the TBC server will be 58. If they dont, starting level on the TBC server will be lvl 1. Remember that these are going to be stand alone version of each expansion of the game going forward, similar to the private servers
If by everyone you mean the top 10% of guilds.
I hope so because the character I made was SPECIFICALLY FOR CLASSIC. TBC is a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT GAME.
Take all the time you need to think about that.
No, i doubt they will. If anything they will have 1 or 2 servers with free transfers for people that want to continue classic without TBC. The rest of the servers, they will launch the expansion just like they did in vanilla.
level 1 fresh start or bust tbh
I like how you have never played a single day of TBC in your life original release or private server, yet are insinuating that you are a “realist” and that you “know how things are gonna roll out”

“They want it because their feelings want it.” Garbage you are repeating that you think sounded cool because you saw it in a political youtube video?

You are acting like 5k gold is a lot of gold to start TBC with when literally players are able to farm 5x more gold in TBC than they can in classic. The mages that make 500g an hour now? yeah easy 2k+ an hour in TBC as a fresh 70. But hey, you “know how things are going to roll out”. The Naxx gear that ends up getting replaced by questing greens and blues before you even hit 70 you mean that Naxx gear? that same Naxx gear you assume players will still be using in “end game raids” even though they replaced it while leveling to 70? but you “know how things are going to roll out”.

Thank you for making my morning while I drink my coffee.
Someone tie me to a rocket and light the fuse, maybe I can give this guy’s Ego a high five on the way up.
Happy 4th of July everyone. “MURICA!”
I started on a fresh server in tbc. I would like this to be an option for people in addition to character copy.
No bugged Kael to gate content this time around, players will smash everything up to Hyjal in a month, two months at most for medium guilds, no matter how you try spin it , slow it down with this nonsense of starting fresh, TBC will be over within 12months hopefully, it is the one expansion Blizzard should release the content faster than they released originally. Imagine doing BWL for 11 months cause that will be BT before we get The Sunwell. ZA was 6months after BT and well its just another catch up like ZG in classic.
TBC is going to piss people off so much if they stick to no changes.
You didn’t do raids that give you good gear so, that means everyone who did must get put on the same level by playing TBC content after spending several months in Vanilla content… Content that they’ve already done and for some, multiple times.
How does that sound fair? Barely anyone would do Classic raids pretty much killing vanilla raiding right off the bat, people that have legendaries esp. Atiesh which will only be out in the last phase of vanilla will vanish so what would even be the point in having it if in the end you can’t bring it into TBC?
No Blizzard wouldn’t do this and my reasoning is cause they don’t do it for retail.
Then roll a level 1 on a TBC server. No one is stopping you.
Don’t play dumb
I feel like this isn’t mentioned often enough, and it’s really one of the best reasons to not have a reset. You’re not solving any problems by taking away my 500 gold just to make someone with 5K gold feel like they’re earning something in TBC.
