I can handle the trolling, but I can see why players wouldn’t want to heal. DPS players are just down right awful to their healers.
Yeah buddy. I tried disc this s3ason and i know im horrible but the teamates were the tipping point for me to stop
Most healers below 2400 are absolutely unaware of what’s going on in game and deserve a majority of the flame they get.
Post your games of you losing rounds and getting raged at to disprove the above claim though.
Every healer always plays perfect when they come to forums, yet none of them let us see their god tier game play that is without critique
This is the vast majority of players below 2.4 on all classes/roles…
I actually haven’t really gotten flamed much this season though on my hpal, prob 95% of the games were either positive experiences, or people just said nothing, but there was a game this weekend where I got called “absolute trash” b/c we lost at 65%~ dampening when I eventually went oom. At that point it’s not a me problem lol
I think the OP was referring to insults, not criticism. They are two very different things.
Im one of those clueless healers at low level. Regardless of how we do win lose or draw you should be either thankful that we are there or rolling healer. Those are your options… not complain and flame the healers that are trying. Yep im clueless other than the healthbars in game. Yes ive been playing since vanilla. No im probabpy not going to get much better
I have wanted to learn to be a healer for awhile finally had the guts to try it and got trash talked about how bad I was. Would of been nice instead of saying how bad I was and let me know how I can improve. Never went back to healing maybe one day ill try it again.
Every healer has cc and more than one has a kick so these things exist already. You’d be shocked at how “game closing” a follow up cc or dispell are.
Imagine thinking Id give away my secrets. Tisk. Tisk.
Which can turn into a reverse game throwing cc chain just as easily… Ie, you charge across the map to hoj the priest, he fades+fears you, and you lose to follow up cc.
That’s just one example, but trying to yolo close out games with cc constantly will inevitably lose you games vs just healing (especially in solo shuffle with no communication). Sometimes it’s good and wins, but sometimes it isn’t and loses
I do a lot of skirm as healer and there is so much trash DPS out there. Not focusing targets, not cc’ing other healer, trying to kill the entire team at 1 time instead of burning 1 target down. Honestly I dont mind losing, learning and practicing but when you watch DPS making the same basic mistakes over and over it’s like why even play.
I’m healing my face off then I look over and see one of these things happening :
- other healer free casting unbothered
- entire team at 30% HP and dropping instead of just burning 1 target (99% of the time this results in no kill and they all regain their HP)
- lack off CC for kill shot , getting DPS low then not CC’ing healer
- entire other team relaxing at 99% HP ~45 seconds into fight
I try to do my part when I can and CC, throw a dot, be part of the killshot, etc. But usually there is so much damage happening I dont have a lot of free GCDs.
People not even pressuring the other healer really bothers me the most. This is the same dumb crap people do in BGs. Trying to burst down someone while a healer stands there free-casting.
I have Brutally Dedicated with over 300 arena wins.
No one said yolo thoughtless etc. Point being, they can help close out a game it just takes some skill. Like the same basic skill that dps have to have in regards to positioning or cc usage. Soooo idk what you were really typing here brother.
There is no reward w/o risk, and these points you bring up aren’t really excuses for bad heals to play badly. No shade at you personally just is what it is.
I’m just saying there’s a lot going into it than just “cc more” which I see a lot of 1800 DPS saying constantly. Bad/mistimed dr’s on DPS can make it impossible to cross cc during your teams cd’s, other healer in good position can make cc’ing them a suicide mission, or the lost globals just ends up cc’ing yourself from falling behind in healing after, etc etc
It’s so situational that advice like “just cc to close out the game” is almost unactionable
Not even remotely. I’m assuming that the audience aren’t morons lol.
I’d also like to point out that a well timed dispel for the healers dps can also end a game pretty quick.
One thing I didn’t realize until I went spriest instead of healer -
The vast majority of shuffle players do not have a way to interrupt the healer. A macro or otherwise. They will only interrupt whatever they’re targeting. This goes up to about 2400.
So they just turret their target and interrupt to create pressure only. They’ll throw CCs on the healer, but will rarely actually interrupt them. They’re throwing games out of pure laziness.
Heal spam at 40 yards is actually a valid way to win in dampening as a shuffle healer. Weird as it sounds. If the other healer is even micro CCed, you can win.
This is very true and has a much better risk:reward
Only as a disc priest or rshaman.
I’ve said since shuffle became a thing that players should be penalized for not pressing defensives, not averaging 1 kick per round, or having extremely low cc value.
If you don’t block, bubble, disperse, kick, or cc at all in a round your rating just goes up 0.
Either play the game right, or don’t go up in rating.
If you’re playing right wouldn’t that just mean over time you will go up in rating to a point where you’re high enough that the other players also are?
This is deffinitley me on dps, not being able to interrupt off targets. Its less that i dont want to do it and more i just dont have the awareness to look at multiple things.
