You think the Night Elves are gonna sit this one out?

Considering the last time they ran off to save their long-lost cousins home, their cousin ended up joining the enemy and then helped them burn down the Night Elves home…

Joke aside, I think it would be a nice little side story to have.

The night elves can’t help it.

They’ll have their fingers in this pie too I betcha.

The new allied race is just night elves 2.0 anyway. There’s nothing night elves can bring to the story that the 2.0 version isn’t already bringing.

They’re more jungly elves tho. Kinda a vision of what the Dark Trolls would have been like I reckon.

It would be funny if like right after we save the Blood Elves the prepatch event for the Last Titan is the Horde burning down Amirdrassil. It just sort of becomes an annual event like Burning Man.

I mean lore wise, we did have night elves in eversong as spies. There were a bunch of quest to take them out though so I don’t know if that means we wiped them out or not or if they have still been hanging out all these years later

We can only hope. I’ve had my fill of night elf lore

I’ll do it myself!

I’m a Panda Blood DK for Midnight  (Team Huojin).

What do we call it? Annual night elf tear farming?

It’d be like cutting off your nose to spite your face. If the Void wins, we’re all toast.

But there’s also precedent for this kind of recklessness. Remember when Varian and Garrosh got into a slap fight in Dalaran during the Ulduar threat? And Varian said, “I’m out. You guys fight this Old God yourselves” and ported away?

Pretty sure the Night Elves will send a postal note to the effect of: “Remember when we saved your city and you burned down ours? Have fun with Xal’atath!” right before they let most of Silvermoon be destroyed and then stepping in afterwards.

(Keep in mind the Nightborne didn’t just burn down their tree, they were also for some reason allowed back into the new one alongside any other Horde races, without a kill on sight debuff either, so no complaining.)

I could see a side quest or even a story quest being us having to deal with a small group of Night Elf extremists trying to help Xal’atath just for revenge.

I think it depends on how revered The Sunwell is to the Night Elves.

It would be interesting to see if there’s differing groups of Night Elves with differing opinions on it. Maybe even some who want to give themselves to the Light in defense of The Sunwell and become paladins?

After reading what Malfurion is… I was surprised they could even come close.

Malfurion was stronger than a dragon, the problem is that he’s a walking nuclear bomb of natural energy and you can’t use it too much for this same reason.

The scourge shouldn’t have won that battle, the Night Elfs didn’t needed the alliance army to win, but the problem was Teldrasil itself.

That tree had a dark origin; it was destined to be destroyed sooner or later.

This depends, the Kaldorei don’t really lend the wells the same sacredness the Shaldorei and Sin’dorei do the wells they live off of, a Moonwell is just purified holy water basically, and they can always make more for ritualistic purposes. And we see Tyrande insulted when Velen dares to insinuate Elune may be just a Naaru. I don’t think the Night Elves care one way or another about the Nightwell or the Sunwell.

There are some night elf mages now though, and maybe some of the more devout night elf priests might?

Considering that we will see more about tauren mythology in TLT, it’s likely that their view on Elune is correct, alongside night elves’. The night elves did rever the well of eternity though, especially the highborne that later turned into blood elves.

Elune told the night elves to seek out the Well of Eternity, too. So I’m wondering if they might have any reverence for the Sunwell being attacked in a similar way. I wonder if the Haranir might act as like, some kind of story link to all of the elves caring about The Sunwell in some way.

Something I find odd is that we still haven’t gotten Sentinels as a Paladin spec for Night Elves, given that Priestesses of Elune often go into the Sentinels and wield bows as backline offensive and combat healers. In fact the vast majority of the original Sentinel army was formed from the Sisterhood of Elune, so they mostly started out as Priests and went into armor and weapons.

Would be interesting to see a Paladin wielding a bow and moonlight.

That’s a retcon waiting to happen.

With the Haranir (whatever you call them) living under the World Tree, the Night Elves should have some sort of connect. Should be interesting.
