Just here to say that there should be a lot more of that. Grinding Reputations that are the same on every character isn’t fun, it’s tedious at best. Every time I go into Ashran, I can’t even buy the mount crop which is a huge bonus in that place, all because the alt I am playing on wasn’t even MADE in WoD.
Do I really need to grind out 5+ reps to be able to catch an alt up for certain vendor items and/or rep stuff? It most definitely isn’t fun.
I urge Blizzard to revisit what should be considered “account” bound. Let ME, the PLAYER rejoice in my accomplishments. If I level two mages and put them in different covenants, let me use EITHER of those covenants cosmetics. Both were fun, but I can only reasonably play so many characters and essentially feel like every time I leave my main, I am screwed out of so much that it makes the experience less fun. I feel trapped on one character.
For reputations I think Blizz should just re-add the MoP style commendations that doubled rep gains account-wide. Apply that to SL and all previous expansions too.
I don’t think true account-wide reps is a good answer, but with that it keeps the grind and lets us choose what each character does, but cuts the time/effort in half after your main finishes it first. A simple thing like that would add a lot more replayability to reps and alts I think.
No, if you chose to go with Kyrian as your covenant you should not have access to armor sets that required venthyr to get and use. That shouldn’t change, that defies the purpose of the covenants. They aren’t just reputations, they are basically sub-factions that you choose.
What’s next? You want alliance to be able to wear horde exclusive sets and visa versa? Makes no sense.
I agree with one exception - the little renown pets. No other little pets (with a couple of faction exceptions where there are different models) have such restrictions. I do not mind grinding out the level 27 renown four times but I so want to use them freely.
Well that is pretty dumb, and also doesn’t feel like choosing a “faction”, since you still do tons of other things for other covenants. On top of that, if it’s like choosing a faction, why can you change at all? And why did they tie power to it?
I didn’t even get to choose the covenants I wanted, because some are just SO good for your class that you have to use them or you are seriously gimping your own performance if you don’t.
So pretty disappointing that they make covenants this locked down then create massive differences between them so you don’t even get to play what you want.
No, there’s enough account-wide stuff already. This is an RPG, not some loadout lobby game. If you want your characters to have things then invest the time necessary to get them.
Grinding the same rep over and over again on alts isn’t any fun
The player is the one earning them, why not at least give the option to the player to skip the same exact grind?
After 15 years playing this game, it’s hard to switch characters when so many things become unavailable to you just because you decided to try out a new class. You can’t talk to certain NPCs or buy consumables for PVP just because this character didn’t do a 20 hour grind.
Can you offer any feedback other than “I don’t like it, it doesn’t match up with MY view of what an RPG is”? Because based on this post and your others, you don’t offer any actual feedback on forum posts, you just troll and try to rile people up.
I really wish it was the case with the covenants that all your characters gain access to the things you unlock with each covenant. The various teleports, the transmogs, etc. Maybe not the exclusive “fun” thing like the Ember Court, but it’s very sad to me I have to take a significant power hit to get Kyrian swords, which I think just look fantastic.
Well see, nice to finally see you add something other than “I don’t like that you want to have fun” response.
You are right, Venari doen’t know who that person is. Could be possible for some reps to be shared while others arent. Or, it could just be for current expacs. You seem OK with forcing people into 60 hour grinds for old world races, but that also is incredibly unfun.
Speaking of unfun, and how subjective it is, how about people who want to skip the grind can. As others have said, you could buy a voucher to send to an alt to skip or greatly speed up the grind. Because what you are saying is super unfun. I’d like for you to have fun, but I’d also like to as well, so with this system, you can just never buy or send the rep vouchers to your alts and you can grind all that rep, while others don’t have to waste their time doing so.
