It sounds like the War Within is implementing a lot of solo content. I’ve tried hard not to spoil myself too much this go around, but I’m pretty happy to hear this, if true. I even heard there’ll be a “tourist mode” for raids…? I can only hope.
I’ve played since early vanilla, but not until MoP once Siege of Org started the Flex option years ago did I really get into organized raids. I’ve gotten a lot of AotCs. I tested how “fun” M+ is (not at all). I’ve found that group content is totally devoid of adventure. It’s essentially like playing with “Go-go-go” bots. Everyone does everything as fast as possible then disappears with Hearth stones. It’s like the whole thing was a big bother and they’re glad it’s over.
I took most of DF off after the first tier and came back for season 4 to prep my alt army for TWW. I’m going to go as solo as possible from now on and I’m hopeful that Blizzard is catering to this play style. I’m curious if others are like me?
Hopefully I’m not an outlier and the devs will allocate some extra resources to us. This is a RPG after all. It hasn’t really felt like one for a long time for me. I’ve just been chasing gear that ends up obsolete every tier, or transmogs and mounts I never use, instead of just enjoying playing an adventure in a fantasy world to escape the drudgery of daily life outside the PC.
I do a lot of solo content. I enjoy just doing stuff and generally have playtimes different that most people in my raid. Makes consistently doing M+ or anything rpse with them difficult.
I like the options to just do stuff on my own. I did a lot of Torghast and other solo type of content when they had it so Blizz doubling down is going to be great. Though I am not going to drop from Raiding and atill trying to M+.
If I understand correctly, it’s just the final boss fight.
I assume it’s to make sure the usual short death cinematic has all the proper context of what was going on (lorewise) during the various phases of the fight, so yes a story mode, but focused on just the finale.
I play mostly solo but I like having other people around so world events are a blast for me.
They did a really good job of world events, too in DF and I think they’ll probably carry that forward into TWW along with some other things but yeah, you’re no the only one who plays solo.
I’m happy just so long as there’s enough to keep as many people around as possible regardless of how they like to play.
As it should be. The less power the community has over your life, the better, even though community indeed “makes the content” after the content has been used up. It’s a beautiful thing to play WoW on your own terms.
I’ll 100% be focusing primarily on solo content. Couldn’t have imagined doing anything other than m+ from legion up until now but I’m just over the constant chase of a score, the fotm rerolling in order to get invites, the toxicity within keys, etc.
Just looking to chill in TWW and not take the game seriously in any way. If I get bored then it will just be time to move on from wow
Assuming they’re half decent, which right now on the Beta they are, then yeah I’ll pretty much be exclusively doing world and delves.
Those who think spending 30mins getting into content can have all the fun they want with it, but I have been exhausted of it since SL.
My game is already 95% solo anyway.
if I do run group content its mostly in leveling dungeons.
Occasionally I’ll run a TW or Heroic for that vault gear, but not every often. Maybe did it half dozen times all thru DF here.
PLayer behavior is just too obnoxious to risk it. I play the game to enjoy myself
Generally I find mythic+ boring and raiding too much of a hassle, if I can do most things solo or with my friend that plays every so often then I’ll be solo if I can.
Not everyone likes the baggage of other things, and not everyone can be bothered to deal with other people all the time….
