As of 8.2, Durumu the Forgotten in Throne of Thunder do not show the white splash of light where we are supposed to go and reveal the Orange, Purple and Green Fog Beasts during the Light Spectrum phase. Only the red and blue splashes of light are shown.
This renders “Glory of Thundering Raider” unobtainable, since the achievement “You Said Crossing the Streams Was Bad” from Durumu is required for it. Comments about this bug were made on Wowhead, citing that it started after the release of 8.2.
To make sure I wasn’t having trouble seeing the white splashes, I recorded a fight with Durumu in slow motion. There were 3 red splashes, 1 blue and nothing else.
Please fix this, Blizz. The 4 very original and unique pterrordax mounts that you released during BfA are feeling lonely and need another pterrordax friend.

While the white splashes don’t show really well at all if at all, the colors DO spawn if you go over them, if you find them. With that said, the achieve is doable, but not very easy and takes a ton more time, which being old old content, kinda dumb. The achieve was a pain in the butt before
Tried to do the achievement for 2 hours no white cloud appear.

Tried doing this achievement today and its still bugged out. Theres no white cloud that appears
This is still bugged today
I was able to do the achievement a few weeks ago by standing where the disintegration beam spawns, then I’d slowly follow the yellow (looks more green to me) beam around the room until I spawned the adds. I got lucky and got the Orange and Green fogs to spawn on the first and second waves. Those are the two colors that you need the slow moving yellow beam for. Then on the 3rd and final, I just needed purple and I just quickly ran around the room until I found it.
The key with starting where the disintegration beam spawns is so that as you follow the yellow beam around, you have time to hopefully make it to the fog before the disintegration beam spawns and catches you. It took me a lot of deaths and probably close to 2 hours to figure out that strat and pull it off.
Also, do the fight on normal to make things easier.
I’m trying to do this achievement now in 8.3 and I am not seeing any white splash, and even when I do a thorough careful methodical circuit around the room with the beams to reveal all the fogs in the room, I can’t get any orange, purple, or green ones to spawn. Only the two normal colors.
I think this fight is bugged still, or bugged again unless I’m missing something in my research or attempts.
The fight also keeps randomly insta-killing me for reasons I can’t figure out. when I go to the combat log it just shows I’m taking some damage in the 60-400 range (barely scratches), and then I’m suddenly dead and it doesn’t say what killed me.
This is de way right here! thanks so much for your post! For a few weeks I have been trying to see the white flash assuming I was missing it. Finally deciding while attempting again today to look and see if this is a known issue. Also most guides I saw online thought you always got all three colored beams but as Physician points out you only get red and blue and have to stand on yellow to get those matches. Just now got it using their method and I have to say - if you dont get lucky with orange and green as the first two its a lot harder to beat the obliterate timer. Also its incredibly disappointing to me the number of posts I have seen like this during BFA, reporting and discussing a bug that Blizzard never responded to…
My Experience today:
After I read this thread I went back in and immediately started to get the first two fogs consistently. In total it took me three wipes to get the ach and that was the first run where I got Green and Orange first. Twice the beams also spazzed out when the phase started and immediately outed the purple fog (this is what dinged my achivement) but I only ever saw this bug happen with purple.
All in all my advice, assuming blizz never corrects this bug: Follow the yellow beam and go ahead and wipe if purple is one of the first two you find… Should only take a few tries following Physician’s technique. GLHF

Me and my buddy tried to do it last night for about 2 hours and we never uncovered any of the 3 colored fogs. noticed a lot of these walk throughs and videos are SOLO so we started the fight and my buddy died instantly after he died i uncovered the orange fog. didnt find another one in next phase and boss wiped, i think theres a better chance to do this solo and it does take time there is a cycle i have yet to find
Still blows my mind blizzards wont touch on this or do anything about it, What are they doing with the 6 and a half billion $ they made off us last year…!!! and they wonder why less and less people stay on wow.
