This has been ongoing for years. Delves put the nails in the coffin… they are just ready to be hammered shut.
The player bases trolling, personal attacks, just overall bad attitudes have led to where we are today.
The irony is the people who are mostly complaining that the M+ scene is “dying” are the people that put it there in the first place.
The ONLY way the mythic+ community will improve is 100% on you. Blizzard can’t fix your bad attitude. I mean, they can ban you… but if only it were that easy. lol
I’m skipping this week’s event…
I won’t be doing any Mythic+. I don’t want to deal with M+ people…
I don’t need Raider IO for Delves… thank you very much!
I spend entirely too much time doing M+, I admit. Roughly half of this is with pugs, and lemme tell you, the amount of toxicity I have personally witnessed borders on the insane. It happens in keys of all levels, although I’ve definitely seen more of it in the 8-10 range than any other.
You see a gradual decline as you move further away from the 8-10 bracket, but it never really goes away.
I don’t know, most of my m+ experiences have been pretty good. Even the ones I egregiously mess up (but still time). If anything is killing m+, it’s too many dps/too few other two roles causing it. Hard to do group content without functioning groups being more commonplace.
edit: and yeah, there’s a ton of reasons for shortages of healers and tanks before someone suggests it. Community is a part, but a ton of really poor design decisions going into the expansion that still haven’t been fully walked back are not helping matters.
Maybe not an issue per se, but definitely a steep decline in participation along with a smaller amount of runs in general this season. You can attribute that to many things but I don’t think it’s what the OP is suggesting.
