tell me how you feel about that sentence. whats your opinion on it?
Once upon a time I cared, now I expect it and deal accordingly. Honestly more down to the healer than anything.
If healer can keep up then it’s go time.
Tanks trying to set impatient players straight.
A way to discipline bad dpsers.
A perfectly valid thing to say. Especially since DPS wants to pull ahead the tank so much in pugs. It does get annoying to see DPS/Healer pulling ahead of me and pulling all the mobs for me as the tank. I say just let the tanks only pull. The DPS/Healers doesn’t really help much in this case because it’s ultimately the tank’s job. Especially since the DPS or Healers has a bigger tendency to mess up then the tank.
The tank controls the speed/pacing of the dungeon.
As a healer I don’t mind the zoomies (I play FF14) so if the tank can keep me alive and hold aggro I will keep him alive so the DPS can kill things. But it’s a balance.
/Laughs in warlock.
I understand why people say it…
but I pretty much never standby and watch people die as a tank. It’s faster just to grab everything, clean up the mess and move on.
This happened in a heroic yesterday where the ret pally felt the tank should be pulling faster. So, he kept dying and raging the entire dungeon. It was quite comical because nobody responded to his rants.
To add to this it’s not even a gear related question. I did Necrotic Wake twice. The first time was awful and we died so much. The tank was new and I was doing my best, so were the DPS. But it just wasn’t enough. Second time though? The tank had a lower ilvl but we didn’t die once and we pulled more. It comes down to the abilities of everyone present.
it think it’s a case by case basis. if someone does it once, it’s nbd. However, i usually heal on my druid in dungeons, and i stop healing dpsers that spam pull. Points need to be proven.
It’s silly nowadays since a tank can get perma threat with a few button presses.
okay… thats a little cruel. dead silence while screaming into the void xD
I’m OK but only if you’re cool with this sentence:
“You stood in that avoidable mechanic. You heal the damage it dealt to you.”
I’ve had more problems with PUG tanks than I’ve ever had with any other player class. In addition to having massive attitude problems and enormous pro gamer complexes, they almost all pull too much or too little, have very little awareness of a dungeon or affix’s mechanics, don’t wait for mana, don’t pick up adds when they lose them, move groups out of AoEs because they got bored standing still, stand in fires, and are like always the first to flame somebody.
Also, shoutouts to any tank who takes insane amounts of damage and is very hard to heal but suddenly remembers they have mitigation cooldowns when the healer dies and then lasts an additional several minutes with no healing required.
Id just add ‘intentionally’ to it.
Sometimes things get accidently pulled.
Ive seen tanks who jump in and help and those who refuse to and make my job healing that much harder.
If DPS is intentionally pulling and the tank doesnt want them to…warn them once then kick them.
If no one cares, especially the healer, so be it.
Once we’re all overgeared it obviously is less of an issue.
Ive run two dungeons so far for quests and saw three wipes on one run, lol.
All because one player was acting the fool and wasting the rest of our time.
He was kicked after the third wipe.
Barrage controls the pace of the dungeon in my experience
If you pull before me, don’t blame me for not having aggro 100 percent of the time.
Been a rule since vanilla.
It’s a mantra used by bad tanks.
Not to the tank’s benefit.
