The low pop servers are not actually low, but marking them all low makes people NOT want to roll there. This makes the problem worse. Mark the servers correctly - faerlina/herod full, the rest medium/high. Putting all the random servers low just makes people want to get off there.
The ranking is relative to other servers. A low sever is low compared to faerlina/herod
Sure, but they don’t have to do it that way and it’s harmful. I read the blue post. This is making the problem worse and they absolutely can fix it.
Maybe it would help if they added the Vanilla-equivalent population after it or something.
Low (Full)
Medium (Queued)
High (Unstable)
Full (WHAT THE ****)
I bet you are a person who uses notecards on dates don’t you? Has anyone told you that you are OCD? Well, you are.
Calm down.
It’s a major problem because not acting fast on this could have long term effects. If people start abandoning their characters on low pop realms to reroll high pop, it will snowball. If this is addressed in even say 24 hours it could already result in dead servers months from now with 1-2 packed to the brim.
That may be. But they are just being stupid then. This is not Vanilla. This is Classic. Classic has layers - even the low pop servers. As time goes by and the population decreases, the layers go away. Even the low pop servers will have a very healthy population. This has been explained a million times, but people seem to want to believe the ignorant doomsayers.
And the instant they run into 5 hour queues, they’ll be back leveling their original character on the stable realm.
In a world where everyone is fully logical, yes. But you already see posts about people regretting rolling on low pop servers. A good portion of those people will reroll out of fear of a dead server.
So the high pop servers will have more stupid people than the healthy low pop ones. Things will be fine.
It would be nice if it works out that way, but you can’t see the future and right now there is a risk of dead servers just by giving the impression that they’re dead.
I’m on a low pop server. Loads of players everywhere. We all seem to be having fun. The servers are in great shape. A dying server is the last thing to worry about. If people want to stress about it and play with long queues, that’s their choice. People will learn, it will just take some people more pain than others.
If Blizzard misjudged anything, I think their fear of a pop falloff is unfounded. Word of mouth and gamer press media is going to spread the word. People are going to keep arriving to play. This game is going to get big.
Yes, its strange that they’re not calling servers that have queue times full.
I’m normally in favor of full transparency, but this might actually be a smart idea. The connotations of “Low” are horrible.
The reason they have low pop servers is that people screamed and yelled obscenities and hated all over Blizz for not having enough servers - so they opened more new ones.
Personally, I think they just threw up their hands and said “Just do it so they’ll stop screaming at us. We’ll deal with it later.”
they never did this for the other game either, doubt they will here
Latest post by Blizz appears they are adjusting the algorithm for this. It is dynamic and giving strange readings.
Yes, I agree!!!
