Why wouldnt they want servers to be full? Honest question. I would think a full server would have a good economy, easy to find groups in areas and a healthy community. I dont want to be on a low pop server. But maybe I am thinking this the wrong way.

Thats cool and great but do you not expect a dip in numbers… At all?
Pvp servers in general are going to be ugly and crowded. You would have to hold a gun to my head to make me play on one. The real fun will be all the posts from people crying about the ques even though they were aware it was going to happen.
I do, obviously. But people are genuinely saying “80%” . But, even then. Let’s just assume 100k. 100k is for sure generous to assume, and I would be astonished if someone tried to refute this… That still leaves 50k population (if there’s a 50% dropoff) on a CLASSIC SERVER. THIS ISNT RETAIL.
Idk, I actually do think 50% will quit honestly. But I think over that is kind of insane, but even then… If the drop off happens, what’ll they do when certain events or entries into new phases cause a new influx of players? Will they just reintroduce layering?
50% after what period of time? I think a some will drop off sure that is only natural. All I care about is if me and my friends have fun and I can continue to enjoy the game me and my wife enjoyed long ago, I will be happy.
no one knows but the population is 100% going to decrease and thats inevitable since people will learn classic isn’t what they thought it was + hype train’s always come to an end

In interviews they have assured us that even if the pop is high. layering will stop sooner or later. due to everyone being in different zones and moving from the starting area.
Before you complain about sharding you have to at least understand how sharding works…

Full servers will have layering as long as they stay Full.
They will HAVE to.
Otherwise, have fun tagging Hogger with 5,000 people all trying to do it too.
Alternately, when they remove Layering they should offer transfer off to lower pop servers.
The massive lag and impossibility of doing anything will be enough to get people to leave.

Another gem from the past I recall was no instance servers being available due to overcrowding. Will we be starting at that system message when we try to log into WC or SFK or any other dungeon? During Prime Time on Full servers? Or did they fix that one from the past?
They’re going to have to create additional realms at some point. I’d imagine if they get in a pinch they will just repeat the process that they did in actual vanilla wow. Open up a new server, allow transfers from the 2 highest pop realms and call it a day.
But that was never successful.
