On the jewelcraft quest in Dalaran she sent me to the Underbelly to find the NPC that stole the jewels - level 43 Monk - and no sooner had the loading screen finished then I was ganked by some high level griefer before I even knew what happened.
Then I had to go back for my corpse, same thing again soon as I rez’d. I play on a PvE server for myriad reasons. Not getting griefed by jerks is the biggest part of that. If people want to PvP in there all they need do is enable it. Stop forcing this crap on people who don’t want it. Same with some areas in the world that you can stumble into. It warns you if you stay in the area you’ll be flagged for PvP then a whole 2 seconds later you are, you don’t even have time to leave. It’s bloody ridiculous.
PvP doesn’t belong on PvE servers. If that’s what you want there’s zero shortage of servers for it. I know, I used to play on one when WoW first started.

There’s an NPC at the entrance (right before you cross into the free for all zone) who will let you hire a bodyguard that effectively turns off your PvP flag in the area. (They only last for 5 minutes, so you do need to pay attention to the clock to rehire a new one.)
I do agree though, it was super annoying. The worst was trying to get the Shaman hidden appearance. It was a random drop from the rare spawns. You know, the ones that don’t pop up when someone set it to PvP. Grinding it out on two different characters in Legion was super annoying because you basically got to kill a rare or two and then had to wait out the cooldown to turn the PvP off. Which of course only lasted as long as the cooldown before someone turned it back on.

Thank you for the reply. I did find the guy and got a bodyguard but the PvP like that should not be happening on a PvE server when, as I already mentioned, people can just enable their PvP flag whenever they choose.
