Not sure why I’m getting this message when trying to post in non-support forums.
Well, to get the obvious out of the way: is your WoW license in good standing (not currently suspended or banned) and currently funded (with active game time)? These are a requirement to post outside of Support, and you’d be surprised how many people are surprised by those requirements.
If both preconditions are true, the forum software may be a bit confused about your active game time. Logging your browser out of battle.net (and therefore the forums) and then back in can sometimes jog the forum software into asking the account management software for your current no-kidding account status.
Yep, checked my account status and later logged into the game when available. No hitch there. It was actually kind of funny - I was actively discussing something here when it happened and it deleted my latest reply, as I apparently lost permission to post between clicking “Reply” and “Post.”
I have had something similar happen in the past, it required me to logout/login to correct.
I had to log out on multiple devices to correct it.
Just to add to this…
For me it turns out ‘Forum’ was unchecked under Parental Controls, which, by way, appear to be enabled on all Bnet accounts now.
While the option is unchecked you will get the “no sub” banner and “you don’t own the game” (for games like D3 it was saying I didn’t have it).
Check ‘Forum’ under Parental Controls and then log out of the forum and it should resolve upon relogging.
