"You need a level 10 character to post on the forums."

I’m getting told I need a level 10 character to post when I have a ton of those. I tried relogging and when I try to change characters, the only “character” I can swap to is my Battletag.

I made a ticket about it but got some auto thing from a bot about doing stuff in game.

Only reason I can make this topic is because my browser still works for some reason, but I can’t swap characters and most everything I wrote for the past year is gone.

What’s going on?

It was a bug a few days ago. Logging out and back in should fix it now.

Unfortunately that was the first thing I tried and it didn’t work for me. I’m scared to do it on this browser because I dunno if I’ll be able to post on this guy at least.

Still, it’s good to know I’m not the only one who had to deal with it.

Did you try deleting your cookies for at least the WoW website as well? Sometimes that helps, too.

Clear your browser’s cache and cookies?

Sounds more like you found yourself to the EU forums site where your characters dont exist. I mean you literally posted here meaning it’s working…

If you did some kind of search for a topic or issue on google, it very well may have found something on EU.

This happened to me and some others the other day. I’m pretty sure it’s something that Blizzard needs to fix on their side, it’s affecting the Desktop version of the forum (but mobile is reportedly fine).

In the meantime, logging out on the Desktop version of the forums is the last thing you want to do.

For me, last time, it was fixed the next day without intervention required on my part.

I tried it and relogged and couldn’t post until just now. This browser ran into the same problem as my tablet and phone and only now after 8hrs it decided to let me back in.

Thankfully it seems like it solved itself, doesn’t seem like there’s anything you can do on your end to fix it.

That has honestly happened to me before too. Clearing cache/cookies and relogging didn’t work and it just fixed itself eventually, too.

I have an EU account, but I get the message "You need a level 10 character to post on the forums. " I have several level 70s and higher there with game time. I also have a NA account with no game time on it.

I can’t post to my EU forms, but I can to the NA forums

Has been happening to me now, off and on, for months. Logging out/in doesn’t do anything to fix it, I just have to wait like a day. One time it took 3 days to fix itself back to normal.

happened to me 2 times in the last couple weeks, logging out at my battle tag icon has fixed it both times, where as logging out with battle.net itself in my toolbar has not.

I can post from my phone but it won’t let me from my pc, I get the same issue, and I can’t change characters here either

Nope mine are all on the us forums

It wont let me change characters anymore, which is no big deal because I rarely do, but I discovered this because I was posting in a topic about how often people are getting kicked from pugs, and I wanted to log in my alt named “Kicked” and say “I get invited into groups all the time! But only for a few seconds”

See this bug ruined a perfectly good joke, assuming its a bug and not on purpose.

Problems like this are bad enough. To make matter worse, Blizzard no longer has any tech support. It is next to impossible to to submit a ticket.

In the vanilla days, the GMs would actually come in the game and talk to you about the problem

I remember seeing them visit goldshire when I started playing. I also chatted with a gm a few times in wotlk. I miss that.

About a month ago I tried to switch accounts so I could post on the character that was having an issue. I ended up getting fully locked out on both accounts on my desktop. Both accounts tell me I have no level 10 characters and no subscription, even though clearly I am logged in correctly. I don’t dare try to switch characters or accounts again.

Clearly they had something in mind when they implemented that. And apparently they’re fine with how it is now. So I’d guess that it is working as intended.

It’s one of those Catch-22 situations. Blizzard “support” tells us to go to the forums when the problem is we can’t go to the forums

If your browser zoom is more than 100% you may not see the “Change Character” link when clicking on your avatar. Reduce your browser zoom to see it.
