You literally just ruined you're best new feature

That’s from years and years of playing. Several years ago I had more time and did achieves for fun with friends. Most of them aren’t that impressive lol. To some, none are.
Achieves in this game are pretty much just a checklist on things to do that are done while leveling or playing end game. You don’t go out of your way for most of them.

For sure :frowning:

It’s about FREAKING time. I love it. Finally, something I can go in and feel like a raid boss…just annihilating everything in sight. Building up my power floor by floor, muwahahahaha.

This is the only way I will run Torghast. Already spend enough time on other things in this game. It’s very nice to have something that is finally “end-game-ish” and doesn’t take me forever to do.

Having said that. I do hear there is something coming soon to Torghast that will be very much like the Mage Tower…so don’t worry. BTW, I loved the Mage Tower. There was just a much better incentive to do it. Xmog is forever! Tower is just earning currency for something that will be irrelevant next xpac…or sooner. So the incentive for me to spend a chunk of time running it is extremely low.

Ideally they should have had paid beta testers that actually have to have some game design and programming skills test this all out instead of the community, but I digress. XD

they did. that’s why the changes have been relatively quick. most of these have been game design decisions, IE how hard should it be, how many powers per floor etc.

early on in the beta powers dropped very quickly which is why they kind of reverted it back to that way.

I like it. I like feeling OP if I clear everything.

if you want challenge just do speed runs and skip stuff. see how many powers you need to finish a layer 8.

can you do it with zero anima powers?

There was nothing fun about hitting a mob with zero engagement mechanics for 2 minutes, nor was it fun to die to a pack of overtuned mob’s auto attacks while being CC’d to death by uninterruptable mechanics.

Torghast has always been trash. It’s boring gameplay with little to no rewards. Kind of like 98% of the “content” in Shadowlands. This is all really quite dreadful.

you’re best new feature

I AM!? :relaxed:

“Ya I play wow…”

sideways glance

“no no… not that kind of wow player I am a hardcore raider…”

coughgaycough

People keep saying things like this, but I have an analogy that highlights the issue.

It’s like being able to choose to do a mile run for one of your activities. Speed is one factor, but pacing an a touch of endurance are other factors involved.

Suddenly, they switch it to a 50m run, because people couldn’t do the mile run or complained it was too hard, even though they could have walked it (layer 1 to layer 8.)

And this argument and others like it are the equivalent of saying ‘if you want the 50m run to be harder, do it with a broken foot or a leg tied up.’ It is not the same. I’m not one for arbitrary self-imposed ‘challenges’ that are in the spirit of this. -_-

idc, torghast should be fun and now that MM is viable I like it even more.

not everything needs to be a competition in this game.

I was careful on the wording of my post. I said ‘run’, not ‘race’.

Personally I don’t find killing things barely stronger than world mobs fun.

No, they literally turned it back into what it was advertised as - aka solo-able content. Twisting Corridors is coming, you’ll get the challenge you seek.

If you want a hard torghast experience, Twisting Corridors (which opens up when you complete the Bolvar chain for ALL characters) is there for you.

You can do twisting corridors on highiest difficulty once it’s unlocked.

Some of us just want our soul ash and get out.

Torghast is boring AF. Not what they advertised and / or tested on beta at all. Where we were supposed to be super beeings just one shoting everything and it was just fun.

Ain’t nobody got time to mindlessly kill mobs with bunch of HP for no reason what so ever than it’s required each week for legendaries.

Give me mage tower like hard boss fights / encounters with the coolest rewards in the game.

Not freaking torghast that takes 2 hours just for some soul ash like what are you smoking my guy.

I love how the replies missed your point.

Good show  You tell 'em! “Optional content” response ironically applied to the opposite complaint for the overly difficult Torghast.

I just hope Blizzard picks a side and sticks to it… this is a wild swing of pendulum to the other direction. I like it this way but I realize it’s a very big shift.

Except the gear part…

It’s a different reward structure and experience.

The twisting corridors are waiting for you if more difficult content is what you are after.
Otherwise soul ash isn’t really much of an incentive to spend so much time and frustration in Thorghast. At least it hasn’t been for me. That is my opinion of course.

What, do you want them to make it so hard that it’d frustrate other people?

“In order to loot, you must click one per finger on your hand”

“You do .05 damage on mobs with 100HP, hope you know how to dodge!”

“In order to move you have to hold the ‘walk’ button then hit A for left for and D for right foot; if you miss you trip and are stunned for 5 seconds.”

And? That is the point of it. If you want a more challenging torghast experience, Twisting corridors does exactly that.

Ion has even said that layer 1 of Twisting corridors is harder than layer 1 of the regular wings. Twisting corridors is 100% optional and is only there for those who want a challenge. Just like the Mage Tower in Legion, or getting rank 4 essences (well some of them, like Hertz Locker) was in BFA.

inb4 someone says they will feel “forced” to run layer 8 of Twisting Corridors to get a mount that is usable in the maw (even though you have a chance of another one through the Shadehound hunt [requires access to beastwarrens]).
