When a hacktivist is like “Technology is bad and we should all do survival of the fittest!” even though they’re a hacker who probably shotguns Redbull all day and probably don’t know how to cultivate land or any other kind of husbandry to sustain themselves.
That’s like a guy who actively HATES guns by attacking people with guns…by using a gun.
Instead, I think we should do survival of the people with the most gnomes!

I’ve actually seen this happen, a few of these ‘advocates’ who hate it don’t realize the rules apply to them. Then when the rules DO apply to them, all of a sudden it’s a bad thing. Like “Bro, THIS WAS YOUR IDEA!”
why cultivate the land when you can hack the land to yield food unattended?
hack the system, make the food come to you with a swipe and a click.
but… you know… its a lot like mind games. its such a toxic ability in pvp.

just because you dont like something, doesn’t mean it isnt effective. 
(and over all i am fine with it existing in the game past shadowlands if every class gets their cov class and signature ability baseline as a new talent row PAGE. with 4 options per row. )

I agree with you - some it might stem either from a lack of empathy or exposure to the harsh realities of the world.
It’s the same people that put down farmers for the work they do despite not doing a hard day’s work themselves (note though I am aware of the issues surrounding factory farmed animals and the immense cruelty within that industry - i refer to farmers who self grow their own free range livestock).
Does this count as social media? Hadn’t really thought it like that. Kind if viewed it as an AA meeting for alcoholics who still drink.

Alright I googled it. Per the denotation, they are, but we all know the connotation is generally the preferred usage (IE: boomer). So by the standard, they’re hit or miss.
I wouldn’t personally call these forums “social media.” They’re more like a collaborative effort to discuss the game than a means to intertwine in each others’ personal lives. Not to say people can’t do that, but we usually don’t.
if it makes you feel any better, this was always a very silly thing to “brag” about. it’s right up there with “i don’t even own a television!” and “personally i only listen to music on vinyl because to my ears it just sounds better”

Knew a guy who was going on about a paleo diet. He was like, “cavemen ate like this and they survived.”
Yeah and they had a life span into the 30s and died of disease constantly. Sure, enough survived to reproduce, but that doesn’t mean they had the same quality of life as modern humans. We have the science to better our lives now.
Technology has improved our lives. Can it be abused to harm us? Sure. But that’s not enough to claim that tech has not improved our lives overall.
