You guys take this game way too seriously

Maybe you shouldn’t pre-pull if you don’t want to be shamed for it. If you felt insulted by that that’s a you problem

I mean, intentionally pre-pulling is a bad move, regardless of what kind of player you are

It’s okay not to worry about parsing. It’s not wrong. Neither way is the right way. Just pick what you want.

But if you choose not to care about parses, and just “press buttons”, don’t expect to play with others that do care about parse.

That’s all I gotta say.

that’s the funny thing, it’s not

ps: I have a rank1 parse. doesn’t mean anything

Play how you want. If people take the game too seriously that’s their problem.

You don’t need to cater to them.

Who are you to decide what ppl should find fun. Have you ever thought for a second that the ppl that do what you talk down about do it because that is what they get the most enjoyment from. Quit being so self centered.

Not seen a single person “up in arms” about this thread nor did they feel insulted.

So was this thread. Sorry you got roasted for doing something dumb in raid :frowning:

I normally don’t care about fun wipefests, but the punishment of no cape is too rough in ToGC. I was in like 4 different guild first Illidan kills in TBC before I swapped over to doing GDKP.

This statement is misleading because while optimizing performance through parsing and theorycrafting is a part of the game for some players, it doesn’t imply they don’t enjoy the game or prioritize spreadsheet values over fun. Balancing meticulous play with enjoyment is subjective, and suggesting that players should only press buttons without concern for optimization oversimplifies the multifaceted nature of gaming experiences and goals.

I don’t disagree, but the problem is that there is a LOT of cheese in togc.

In unrelated but interesting news Mythic parsers are now extorting players before final boss pull to the sum of thousands of gold… Or they port and GL on your key. The OP is correct in that parsing behaviors can evolve to be very toxic. Wrath Classic is brain dead content compared to modern games including WoW retail.

Don’t take Classic parser’s seriously

Big brain, Big numbers, Big fun ,reeeeeeeeeeeeee. Imagine enjoying the game for different reasons.

Parsing is a bane to the game and to fun. We don’t need the competitiveness… go play a shooter if that’s what you want. Learn to Enjoy the Journey and the friends you make in a guild rather than randos and gdkps.

But it is. If your duty is to pump only then it will tell you how you did. I am not going in to detail about kill speed etc. being a factor, but clarifying parsing includes damage done, damage absorbed, etc. etc…

If you dont have a measurement tool you wont know who your dead weight is.

Parsing can become irrelevant in World of Warcraft when it overshadows the primary goal of enjoying the game. Focusing solely on numbers can detract from the social and immersive aspects that make Warcraft enjoyable, potentially leading to burnout or strained group dynamics. Ultimately, Warcraft is a multifaceted experience that extends beyond parsing, encompassing camaraderie, exploration, and narrative enjoyment.
