i do hate the way SoD is being handled so yea thats why i unsubbed. not resubbing gonna take a full sub break for a month at least and come back when Phase 4 has already been thru the fire
Well personally I’ve been having a blast on Cata and always enjoyed the Cata private servers so I’m personally having a lot of fun and can’t wait for more cata classic
I’ll try p4 of SoD but I’m not holding my breath on wanting to come back full time tbh
Era is a stagnant product and HC was pretty minimal effort. Cata is high effort but no real design work, SoD is the only place they’re doing actual new stuff.
IT would be interesting to see what they came up with though if they used vanilla as a base and put a full expansions worth of effort into classic+.
not really, it’s a brand new gameplay sistems i think. but sadly it’ll ended in phase 5 (as i know) hopefully we going get another season
Yea fair, despite what I said, I am keen for the cata raids.
I think i am holding my breath for phase 4 at this point. keen for a ‘non-leveling raid’ ig.
they’ve closed down 2 servers I’ve been on, now I’m on WG and still can’t find a group to q bgs with…yes I hate what SoD has become but I’m paid up and don’t want to waste it. They need to fix what they have instead of just making 27 styles of wow that pleases no one
I like it alright. I have some complaints, but I don’t hate it. My biggest frustration is the phases, I’d just like to hit 60 already.
I know a lot of people hate the exo meta with pallies, but I’m enjoying it. After coming from warrior and feral druid, pally is a nice break.
But seriously, just release P4 already for the love of God.
level caps stop the need to log on,
good, why would you want to be required to log on to maintain your char
i did 29s 49s more than anything else in vanilla tbc wotlk(49s only) for that exact reason. I play for the carrot not the stick.
Cata is keeping me subbed right now, which I didn’t see this coming at all, kinda surprised.
Cata has nice class design. The raids and zones are mostly new to me as I never raided in that xpac and don’t remember the zones that well.
I’m not logging into SoD anymore. I couldn’t even find the will to finish out Rank 7 or get the Backstabber from Blood Moon. It’s just too boring. No reason to even do anything until the next phase. Keep getting removed from zerg guilds for being inactive.
SoD is the only game mode where you have to log in intermittently during the day to check for events and make sure you aren’t gkicked. The game is so transient, you don’t even know if you’ll be in a guild when you log in.
I’ve always wanted more from Classic WoW… needed something to change the meta that has reigned over it for the last 20 years. I wanted newer abilities and PvE/PvP. Personally wanted faster leveling and better itemization on gear for all specs. I wanted levels time gated like in 2019 Era beta… people were finding new challenges at low levels, it was the same old things but felt new.
All my boxes were checked… it’s not perfect but I am very happy with the outcome.
I do take the game very casually and a lot slower than others. I mean it is a video game lol…
Im upset because of the time money and effort could have been much better served had they listened to the community. The community was begging for classic with new dungeons, raids and quests. We didnt ask for much. They tried to over deliver and it failed.
IT would be interesting to see what they came up with though if they used vanilla as a base and put a full expansions worth of effort into classic+.
Exactly. Imagine if they treated Classic+ as a brand new expansion. Full development cycle, intro cinematics, flushed out storyline, dedicated dev team…for the low low price of $69.99. Heck, maybe even throw in a human customer service rep or two.
They would easily draw in existing Classic players and could market “a brand new game” to new players and the 12 million ex-WOTLK players alike.
adding so many runes per phase and dragging phases out for so long literally kills/killed sod as of now.
Whats there to do? Hello? Everytime a month passes the game is literally dead. Instead of releasing a phase with “all” their stuff they could gatekeep and release stuff midway on top of it but instead choose to let it die out. Rofl.
I really enjoyed SoD in phase 1, and even phase 2.
Phase 3 has been awful though, really really awful. Incursions alone are one of the most disastrous pieces of content I’ve ever seen implemented in WoW and have caused irreperable damage to the economy, leveling process, and general player experience. They should be straight up deleted from the game in P4.
The absurd overpoweredness of incursion exp/rewards/gold combined with the experience buffs makes it so that leveling is not fun and over in a flash. There’s nothing to do at max level but your one weekly ST run or PvP…
except PvP is a nightmare hellscape now because the accumulation of new abilities and buffs over three phases has completely broken it. The developers barely considered PvP when designing runes so now a bunch of classes are broken beyond belief, general damage output is out of control, and the developers refuse to do actual real class balancing and are wasting time with this hamfisted DR aura which just introduces more problems.
So yea I do actually kinda hate the way the game is now in P3; I’m not sure if Blizz can or will fix it in P4. It sucks that its come to this.
Yeah I hate it. Phase 1 was delicious bait and the rest of it was bad.
i enjoyed the parts I played, but my interest in it left when I learned they are mutilating 40mans. don’t hate it, just not interested.
but my interest in it left when I learned they are mutilating 40mans.
This was a long list of things. They tried to appeal to way too many people with SoD and forgot who wants Classic+
If feral gets more boring runes that dont flush out bear and kitty I will quit, which means WoW for good. SoD is the end of the line for me regardless. Its been so bloody boring with these phases and the devs have completely abandoned SoD in p3 for cata. This company has been dead for any kind of creativity for a decade now. SoD was suppose to be curveball but its really just a maintenance mode MMO like everything else they churn out.
SoD isn’t alt friendly anymore either. They didn’t have the foresight to realize adding all this grind crap wasn’t gonna work for alts.
I dislike the lack of effort and maintenance involved.
That’s not a dig at the developers directly, I don’t know what goes on there, what directives they are given, and what resources they have been allowed to work with, but simply Blizzard as a whole.
We have seen no meaningful discovery, just a handful of often shared rune acquisitions.
Next to no actual change outside of Shaman, and to a degree some tanks/healers.
The only good thing to come out of SoD is probably the STV PvP event, which sadly is overshadowed by the incredibly poor PvP balance we have seen severely impacting many players enjoyment.
