Blizzard has also said they’re opening up all classes to all races, they’ve said it in multiple interviews…
Okay…? What’s your point?
Cuz I’m fine with that if Blizzard respects the lore and tries to make it make sense.
Blizzard didn’t do that with the new Warlocks.
Then don’t play one?
I can see that big words are a bit much for you.
I’m sorry for overestimating your ability to utilize higher thought.
I mean no one is forcing you to play one, besides as I said before, we roleplayers will figure it out and come up with something. A few gaps in the lore are already present when it comes to random stuff like this, I mean I’m sure there was an outrage when Monk wasn’t exclusive to Pandaren.
There was a storm of problems when they opened up DK to Lightforged Draenei as well, but people persevered and got over it eventually.
Just wait a bit and I’m sure the next “Unlock for all races” is going to have the same controversy.
I can see that you are the type not to care for the How and Why.
You are of the Want only.
Lions Pride Inn/thread
They said a couple of years ago that all races all classes was their goal. I assumed it was a matter of artwork and/or animations that were the sticking point.
Why? And how is it rightfully so? Does the race/class combo that little timmy decides to play affect anyone in any way at all? No, didn’t think so.
Look, all I’m saying is while some people are up in arms about it (which is odd considering the number of people who don’t care about lore ALL OF A SUDDEN care about it.) people like myself and other roleplayers or casual players might be okay with this considering.
There’s a LOT of lore-breaking things in game and still some ambiguous stuff that makes the lore not make much sense at times as well. It’s not just Warlocks being unlocked for everyone. What of Night Elf Mages? Weren’t they a hot-button issue when they came out?
Are you also upset that male Nelfs can be priests and female Nelfs can be druids?
Undead can be Holy Priests
Lightforged Draenei can be DKs
It’s going to be fine bro, really. We’ll get through it and I’m sure the next unlocking of the next classes will have people start to push over cars and bust down storefronts.
The funniest thing is those are all characters that went against tradition or culture of their own races.
Thank you for being the voice of reason that we needed.
And yet, we’re somehow chained inescapably to our culture and origin, doomed to never be an actual hero and just a constant sidekick.
It’s a campaign where the DM insists on and railroads the players into all supporting their DMPCs.
To be blunt, Blizzard says a lot of dumb things, some of which end up happening (like Battle for Azeroth) and some of which sink without a trace (like the ogre continent in Warlords). “We want to do this in the future” is only slightly more useful than a tea reading when it comes to figuring out what’s actually going to happen.
People were asking for Draenei warlocks as far back as WoD, likely even earlier. The forums just have concussed goldfish memories or just weren’t playing back then. I was against it at the time, and for most of the time after, due to lore… but Legion not only introduced the concept of Lightforged demons, but the lore that the Burning Legion is not the natural state of demons.
With the Legion destroyed, or at least fractured, there’s much less of an issue.
How is that supposed to work with the Evoker and the DH? We can’t get Blizzard to do squat for more class customization. It’s like squeezing lemonade from a rock. Now we are supposed to believe that they are going to make Metamorphosis forms for Pandaren, Gnomes, and Vulpera? (eventually)
Yeah, I remember seeing that as well. I also remember people being up in arms about Tauren Paladins.
The lore for Sunwalkers was cool, I was more angry that they folded them into Light users in Legion…
I didn’t see people shrieking on the hills when Mage, Priest, and Rogue got opened up for everyone else… In fact, I saw a good number of them actually HAPPY about Tauren and Draenei rogues even if it was for the memes.
When they do not get invites, for playing an abomination of a race/class, they will then cry.
Just watch. WoW players are evil enough to do exactly this, not invite because reasons.
