Botting in BG’s is totally out of control. It’s made BG’s basically unplayable. When I die to four or five opponents almost every single one of them disengages and runs away at the same exact nano second. All of them!! I mean sheesh does it get more obvious than that?
I get it… Blizzard tried to do something about automation services and it was really expensive to go after these people and then after 2 years of court they just reopen somewhere else like it never happened. I am not blaming blizzard for this but here is the thing…
We now live in the age of AI. you guys could use AI tools to identify bots and automation scripts and ban those accounts. Sure the queues would suffer at first but once the word got out you were actually doing something about all these botters ruining the game i bet a lot of people would come back. Its just horrible right now. 90% of your games in random bgs are blowouts against bot teams that play like they have drank a million red bulls and have a hive mind. its become obvious and it sucks. I like random bgs to relax and just have fun.
i get it maybe you cant prevent people from trying to automate but you darn sure could leverage AI to identify it and ban those accounts.
There were some games when I think a player said “ I think that hunters’ a bot…”

Players dont realize how bad it is right now. I would guesstimate that about 40% of what you see are bots. Never talk, robotic movements and reactions to cc/fights. Perfect cc? Yep, perfect reaction to your every move? Yep…
Ya I used to bot pretty heavily I do admit. Glider, Pocket Gnome. That account got banned though and was about 15 years ago. Shame I did that…I had scarab lord and the Naxx warlock armor.
I don’t think the number even comes close to that. I rarely see them these days. Blizzard has been pretty good with cheating, scripting, and botting this expansion. Not saying it doesn’t exist, but it’s a small number.
If you watch in any bg you see them. It’s constant. With AI I assume it’s made it worse, letting people grind without actually playing. Blizz is lazy when it comes to…. Well everything. Plus I have buddies that track stuff that knows things. Lottttt of crap going on that blizz doesn’t stop.
