How in the heck are copper-ranked items more expensive than silver and/or gold?
You guys do know that silver and gold are better than copper, right?

I know there are a few recipes that actually require lower grade ingredients, but idk if that’s the reason or not…
It seems part of it is that some people just simply buy the low grade ingredient just automatically thinking it will be cheaper… since the low rank ingredients, i think, are more vulnerable to supply/demand fluctuations because there is less of them in circulation.
Crafters out level the ability to easily make the lower quality items making Silver in particular cheaper than Bronze since theres far more of them on the market.
Farther into the expansion, cheaper the triple gold star quality thingy things will become.
Because the gold is more abundant in supply than copper .
Imagine farming one of those gold asteroids in space . Yeah gold value will plummet below that of rust.
because most crafters are skilled enough to always craft silver and gold quality even with bronze input. Since less bronze ranked items are made and there’s not enough market forces to drive the price down, no one wants to buy them and the few leveling crafters don’t make enough to drive down price.
take it op forgot
that a max out gathering professions specialization will give more 2star and 3 star mats
I just wish that herb ranks would level out to 5X between them, so that the ability to merge them into higher quality would become worth it.
In what context? Because silver’s actually not as valuable as copper, in most regards.
Demand is only half of the supply/demand paradigm. The other half is supply. While there is more demand for the higher quality crafts, there is also more supply and thus more competition on the market. That drives the price down.
No recipes require lower rank ingredients, except for refinements. Which is a waste since your spending a couple hours anyways farming your knowledge drops.
I think, people just pick the most expensive and rank 1s being impossible to make by most crafters ends up most uncommon and oddly most expensive.
Does Blizzard?
In some cases, gathering weeklies do not accept gold-quality mats, only silver (and by that point you’re probably not gathering any bronze-quality crap to turn into silver-quality crap, either).
They need to ditch how herbs spawn in Dragonflight.
It’s the BfA system, except this time there are 3 herbs (Writhebark, Bubble Poppy, Saxifrage) that are all Anchor Weed.
It was a bad way to handle herbs in BfA, it’s even worse now.
