Just posting to support keeping addons, incase blizzard actually felt influenced by this thread.
I hate the idea of gear score mentality too. As far as group finder addons, I get they’re not “vanilla.” But having an addon sort people interested in different dungeons would not ruin the vanilla experience. Cross realm, automatically recruiting lfg with random people you’ll never see again, porting you to a dungeon- THAT is what ruined the vanilla experience.
An addon that simply organizes people LFG just cleans up trade chat so people can spam enchants and espouse their ignorant politics more effectively.
I wouldnt mind if those didnt exist, but banning all addons is stupid.

In early classic beta you could edit a cvar that would extend your nameplate distance very very far and effectively allow you to see enemy players through walls and hills way off in the distance.
That would have affected you.
They fixed it pretty early on and limited the range unfortunately! It was neat for a short time.
I mean, I just agreed with you that that could be a problem, so? Why post it? We’re talking about things like questie if someone uses questie it doesn’t affect you in any way

I just seen this part on the LFG add on page. I guess I did not notice it before.
Looking for Groups
You can look for groups for any dungeon, but there is also a "Custom" category for world events and more.
The Addon automatically parses all chat messages and lists them as groups to queue up (even across layers!) Note: If you apply for such a group it will whisper the leader of the group with the message that you provide
Multiple dungeons can be selected at a time
Groups of which the leader is on your ignore list will not show up

Is your issue with Questie the speed increase that it can hypothetically give someone when finishing a quest? Guides are all over the place so they can always alt tab and read the location, etc.
Is it the giant arrow pointing you to exactly where you need to go? I use Questie but I hate that stupid arrow. I don’t use the arrow but the map hints I do use, gets me in the general area for where those Elder Boars are, etc.
If not Questie then websites with walkthroughs. Folks that don’t want to read and explore will put forth the effort to NOT put forth the effort, silly as it sounds.

I want a threatmeter addon, a auctionhouse addon, I want atlasloot, I want dbm (or whatever the similar vanilla version was), and I want grid.
If Blizzard made every single UI element moveable/resizable, we wouldn’t need any addons.
