Tell me,

Do you ride a bicycle with training wheels?

Do you eat Pizza with a Knife and Fork?

Does your Volkswagon have a muffler to make it sound like a Ferrari?

That you then drive near my House at 3 IN THE MORNING!!!

You do NOT need Addons to play Classic.

We do Not need “Quality of Life” addons in this game…

Or that absurdity known as “Questie”.

Do you people not realize what Classic is?

Players thrive on Hardship and Inconvenience.

If I wanted everything handed to me on a Silver plate, I’d be playing that laughable excuse of an ‘expansion’ called Battle for Azeroth.

I have heard of an “Achievements” addon being added to Classic…how pathetic.

But

“Addons were in Vanilla…” I hear the crowd rambling.

You know what else was in Vanilla? Cross-realm Battlegrounds…Why not make the whole game Cross-realm?

Forget Classic…I want the whole game to be a level 1-60 Battle for Azeroth experience.

I have fought for Legacy realms for years, and now I see these Retail players INSISTENT on adding their unwanted changes.

If Blizzard does not immediately Ban EVERY. SINGLE. ADDON

Rest assured,

There will be a Gear score addon in Classic,

And a Raider. io addon in Classic,

Because, those addons have worked out so well and haven’t created shear chaos in Battle for Azeroth.

No Addons, No Problems

This is what us Classic players dread…when our beloved game is corrupted by the “Quality of Life” and “Conveniences” from that dreaded ‘game’ Battle for Azeroth.

PLEASE JUST BAN ALL ADDONS!!!

As we get closer to release, people’s true colors are showing. Now we see post after post of people saying they want this convenience or that convenience. And anyone who argues against it must just be a prude. These people are the ones that will ruin Classic. They’re the ones that took WoW in the direction it has gone over the years. Their entire existence is ruining the good in this world. It’s pretty sad, really.

I might use RP addons. Any of the others, I can’t be bothered to look for, but that is mainly due to laziness.

funny thing is addons have been a part of this game since beta. so no i havent changed my stance on it.

in fact i have posted against the lfg addon .

but things like questie and other quest help addons have been in the game since the beginning.

ui mods have been in the game since the beginning.

threat meters and boss timers have been in since early raiding.

they all have been in in the ACTUAL VANLLIA EXPERIENCE so no i dont what changes to that.

honestly you have a very big lack of knowledge when it comes to a pure vanilla experience.

Man i remember a BLANK Map and NOT a CLUE where to go or where I was going! Disable all addons!

oh and that “stuggle” you are on about. people used thottbot and i think even alackazam if i remember correctly when they were “struggling” . the tools were there including actual quest helper addons . some were actually being sold for actual cash like zygor guides and stuff.

I’m officially done with this forum. The most idiotic, pointless posts are made over and over and over… and over and over. This is a “classic” example, in a long line of many. This forum has spiraled into territory not yet seen. Good riddance.

I’ve been playing for countless years and have never used any add-on whatsoever. I also don’t like a whole other bunch of stuff people do in game: role-play, pvp, dungeons.

However, do I purposely stress myself out or condemn others for doing things that I myself don’t do? Do I tell others how to live their lives? What colors to like? What clothes to wear?

Classic will not be compromised by add-ons because these have always been available. Also, if people can’t find a quest-giver they are told to google-it. How do we police that?

Just for the OP, I think I will load a gig worth of add-ons, even druidbar for my Paladin.

Don’t read into what you don’t understand, little one. I didn’t use many addons during vanilla. I prefer a more minimalist approach. While I think Questie is terrible from a gameplay perspective, I don’t care too much about it. My concern is more for all the lazy LFG type addons that people are pushing like pills lately.

And a gearscore addon would be pointless in Classic. Too many useful items that would score too low, like Wolf’s Head Helm or other such items.

If it was a single player game you could use any mod you want. This is a MMORPG which certain add ons affect other players. So in that point its you playing in our game.

Questie is actually poor compared to the actual quest helpers that existed back in vanilla.

Quest help was the ultimate. Built in directional arrow and step-by-step power leveling guide.

Hopefully someone brings it back!

Nobody “needs” them, but we sure had a lot of really powerful ones to choose from in vanilla. Many far more powerful than what we have now.

The game will never go back to whatever idyllic scenario you have in your head.

Add Ons have been part of this game for the whole lifespan of its existence.
