Well maybe if more died in the story people would be less annoyed.
I’ve wanted Jaina dead for some time now.

What? they were not zombified at all because of Genn. At worse, Genn did not do anything to help but he never caused them to be zombified and ultimately he wanted to protect his people. He built that wall long before the Scourge were a thing.
And I don’t think most are fine with it especially considering how this expansion turned out.
And I think you are wrong. Personally I don’t particular care about either of them and I am quite fine with well written female characters(Aloy, Clementine, Shera as quick examples). As for Sylvanas herself, yes I have a vendetta with her, she spent the entirety of Warcraft screwing over the Alliance and depending on how the final cinematic goes might end up getting a “happily ever after” while Arthas, who was in the same boat as her got destroyed so she could get a rant out.
jaina exists to date wow dudes to eventually become raid bosses. i used to really love her but she kind of went off the rails a while back and meh. tyrande has always been 'MAAAAAAAAAAALUFURION" and i’ve wanted her dead since the earliest parts of the game but that’s not happening either.
Pretty much. Could the sylvanas story been better?
Totally.
Do I get annoyed when I think women characters are all girl boss and little substance?
You bet I do.
But was this a company that is literally being sued by the state of california because of numerous harassment issues? Did people there steal breastmilk from a female employee from the fridge? Was the dude who made Sylvanas genocidal fired for misconduct?
Yes, yes, and yes.
I am very glad that they did not lop off the head of this character and call it a day. I just really don’t care about what people have to say when they have no interest in the actual character or the character’s story because “zombie woman bad.”
we’re now forum bffs because we have the same opinions on this, tbh.
edit the female characters were intentionally written for misogynistic power fantasy reasons and now the players are mad that sylvanas has one of her own.
They should give the people what they want.
They want blood.
I just want to shake people so hard sometimes lol when they are being disingenuous to my face and know it.
The cinematic was fine.
Arthas was an interesting character and I am 100 percent not needing more content about him. I wanted my sylvanas closure. I got it. I am okay with whatever happens after this.
She’s literally shown in game as still being upset. This takes place while in a conversation between Jaina and Uther. It’s right there in game. ![]()
i haven’t done the kyrian or or most of the venthyr campaigns and have done all the current zone ones and i haven’t seen it. link to quest?
You get lots of hugs from me, hahaha. Love this game and the people here but sometimes this community just feels like a reddit echo chamber.
I think this does the conversation with people who hate sylv a disservice. They don’t hate her because she is a woman. They hate her because her character makes little sense and also destroyed a fan favorite location.
I get you like the character and want to see her written well in future expansions, and I do too. I just think it’s a bad idea to paint the arguments of others in bad faith.
Jaina only ever dated 1 other dude(Kalec), we get an entire questline from her about her feelings for Arthas, and now she actually get to see the final fragment of a person she deeply cared for and all we get is a big fat nothing. I can’t stress enough in saying Wrath did this better and it did not need a cinematic!
It wasn’t fine.
It was terribad.
Someone at blizz just can’t help it with their precious waifu Sylvanas.
lol. the forums are like “I LOVE WHEN GARROSH AND ARTHAS MASS MURDER/GENOCIDE PEOPLE BECAUSE STRONK, but how DARE sylvanas!!!1one” and when you ask them why they don’t like her you get told “lul hug your sylvanas body pillow nerd, you wouldn’t like her so much if she looked like lillian voss” and then when you bring that up they’re like “sylvanas being a bad character has nothing to do with her looks” then why do yall vomit insults about it on the forums for a decade? oh?
k.
Well, when in doubt, cry misogyny.
Yeah, the interaction is so incredibly unrealistic, it’s a wonder why the writers thought she needed to be there at all. Well, it was obvious she was related to the story in that part because they want to show her as a powerful, great leader, but I think their reasoning didn’t go much beyond that point because her motivations, again, aren’t realistic beyond that point.
Yup it’s just people being told what to think by youtubers who thought arthas and garrosh are what real men should aspire to be. As opposed to, you know. Being villains we’re not supposed to root for, even if we think they’re cool.
They do though. Always have, always will.
I have seen this even before the stupid tree. Tale as old as time.
And no, people who like her do not want a girl boss kween. We want a character who’s treated like a person. This is the first time in forever that she has been.
they were both excellent villains, but still villains. they aren’t magically anti heroes because people like them. sylvanas was one of the best villains for a while. people are just salty blizz is giving her a redemption arc when they wanted it or arthas. he died in wrath and so did sylvanas. they brought her back and had this whole story line because they didn’t want her story to end when she yeeted herself off icecrown. i think some of them have never gotten over the fact that arthas’ story ended like 10 years ago or whatever. if you read some of their posts what they wanted was for him to come back and get his own redemption arc and been seen as some misunderstood hero when blizz has made it very clear for a decade that he’s a villain that died a villains death.
who they really did dirty in all this, imo, was voljin.
Or you could just listen to what people tell you instead of projecting onto them what you want them to believe.
Or we could pay attention to the literal lawsuit that is real and not imaginary.
