You Can't Sub using B-Nat Balance

This new policy, in addition to possibly saying GOTCHA! to people who forget to cancel subs, also subtly works against hording B-Net balance from AH tokens since now anything but the 60 day game time purchases are impossible with your balance.

So no more minor 30 day commitments and no more discounts from longer commitments if you want to use B-Nat savings.

And before someone tells me this doesn’t matter, I hadn’t played in 1 1/2 years but decided to come back and give the new x-pac a chance because I had a little over $55 sitting in my account from former AH dealings- making it cost no real $ for me to give it a spin. And now because I liked it I have been rewarding Blizz with more money.

I think this change stinks!

It does suck. I too only play with bnet balance. I enjoy farming in game and commiting to only 30 day periods. This change is disgusting.

I have 4 accounts I’ve been funding with bnet balance. I’m just going to let them run out and cancel my one sub. There’s no point in playing now. What else are they planning?

I pay with Tokens, but it never occurred to me to convert to Blizz balance and buy game time that way.

I mean I have it and use it to buy the game etc, since WoD I have not spent any real money on anything here, all the expansions, subs, Diablo 3 and expansions, all paid for courtesy of Blizzard.

Feel dumb for not saving money when I could have and now I can’t anyway.

/facepalm

You’ve never been able to purchase a sub with Bnet balance.

Give the many, many thanks to the botters.

Anyone with half a brain can see that is who this change is directed to. Curb the one off subs and attempt some damage to repeat ban offenders.

So you had to suck it up and pay one month sub to play again… big deal.

What is this mentality of not wanting to pay for a product you enjoy? Makes no sense to me.

You can buy gametime which is probably what he means.

Sorry to lose you. See ya.

They don’t like that kind of freeloading. There’s no profit in it, mate!

They cutting into blizzards margins on gold sales

Why not just redeem the token for 30 days gametime when you want to play?

lol, how? The token purchases are unaffected by the change?

Bots make gold then sell it at a lower price than tokens

People start buying gold from 3rd party sites because it’s cheaper than tokens

Then buy their mythic +15s

This change won’t stop botting.

Yeah, that’s precisely what he meant.

Since the inception of the Token, I can’t imagine this is a booming clientele. Obviously there’s no data we can look, but I highly DOUBT this is even a fraction of a concern for Blizzard’s bottom line.
Botting is a problem of moral and perception more than a money drain. People psychologically (and rightfully so) associate a lot of botters in a game, with decline. That’s why you need to address it as a company.

It won’t, but it will curve it. Just like the Token did. It didn’t eliminate it, but it certainly changed the dynamic of it. There’s more investment to be made now, and longer time to get caught per account I imagine. But I am only speculating.

This change has no impact on that though. I think that’s what you were being asked to explain.

edit: unless you meant it in a general sense of botters hurt and that’s why blizzard is coming down on them.

If it was to target botting companies and make it more ineffective to bot to sell gold then they attacked their competitors by doing so

Gotcha. Makes sense.

If not then blown if I know why they’d do it
