You can't have what Nost had

Layering is not to prevent ques

Layering prevents 10,000 Herod players from all standing around trying to tag Hogger at the same time.

I’m not even exaggerating.

(Ok, maybe 5,000 if it’s a 1:1 faction ratio)

All one really needs to say here is:

WE'RE GONNA BUY GREENLAND, BOIS.

Nope nope. Read it again.

They are going to confirm this again on the 20th during the AMA too though, so I guess you could wait until then. But you are wrong. Server caps are raised.

If this is actually the case I imagine there will be a lot more competition for resources.

Well assuming they were being honest saying that Medium has more than the old High, we are talking maybe 2x maybe 2.5x. That’s not really that bad. I’ve experienced it on Private Servers. Those screenshots of 15k people online really have given higher pops a bad rap. 6-7k on a server isn’t unplayable by any means considering how much of end game content is instanced. Including resources like herbs and minerals inside instances like DM.

Tbh i like being on a highly populated server.

If layering gets shut off and we have 5-10k players on a server that sounds awesome to me.

The only people that really care and complain about high pop are selfish players that roll low pop servers so they can gather all the herbs and mine.

There will always be quieter realms later, it just silly to think you’ll have a quiet launch, give it time.

If you read more than that one minor snippet of my post, you’d know that’s exactly what I was saying.

Nost didn’t care about players. They were fine with you being unable to quest or areas being far too overcrowded. They just wanted to brag about population numbers on the internet. They wouldn’t release a desperately needed 2nd realm until 6+ months later, with no transfer options. Their “solution” was to keep turning down the detect distance until you could run into mobs before them showing up on your screen. There’s numerous other ways they screwed over players, but I’m not going to rant about Nost all day. I hated that staff, and I was glad when they were gone.

That many people trolling trade chat sounds like a giant headache.

As it should be, i know you greedy gatherers just want all nodes to yourself but your just going to have to suck it.

Entire post was based on that one misunderstanding of layering.

i mean classic will be as classic was, nost was a cool taste and all but mehh, private server is still private and an offshoot

It’s the most that will be on a server at any point…

As a result many realms will be divided come phase 2.

lol thats bull crap. they wont just divide the servers.

I have no clue what Nost had, I’m guessing this is an abbreviation for some illegal private server? I really don’t know who played on it. Many of us chose Herod to avoid the streamer server and the BR one on EST Pvp, that left us with Herod, its just that simple. Any one of us could see this was going to happen except the people in charge of this game, how is that possible? They were and are not prepared. The only way theyre going to get people to move is offer a transfer to a new server so people can keep the names they already reserved on Herod to the new one.

If Classic is using modern client, doesn’t it have a bunch of anti-cheat software running? Can the server handle even 500 players in one zone without going to 1 fps?

I don’t think that’s what he meant.

um no he wasn’t?
