This really bothers me.
Content was already paid for in a subscription-based package and taking the ability away to form mythic groups takes away what the customer already paid for.
While this security feature is not forced, you can’t require it if you want your users to fully experience World of Warcraft.
They are not part of your cyber team. How they want to handle their accounts is on them.

Why would you NOT want your account secured?
I thought I wouldn’t need one back in like, 2010. One day, I woke up and my characters were moved to different servers, naked, all gear disenchanted.

…but it is FDA-approved and the CDC said it was fine.

First of all, its not what I want.
Second, requiring additional tech to experience the challenge of mythic dungeons is restrictive to casual players.
Yes. Believe it or not, casual players too want to run mythic dungeons.
Some people do not have the ability to acquire an authenticator because they’re under the age of 18. They wouldn’t have any idea what it is.
And, believe it or not, some people simply do not have smartphones. This is especially the case for teenagers. Blizzard does not know who the parents are.

You can make as many groups as you want, including for M+. No authenticator needed.

Updating the game to work with newer technology has always been a thing, and not just with this game.
Also this:
Just… WHY? I lost my account for a DAY back when these things first came out and I IMMEDIATELY ordered one for myself and my spouse.
Now my kids have played and they have the new digital version.
2FA just makes SENSE.

That’s not stopping you from making the group, it’ll put your key level in.

Those stop you from making custom notes about the group, but you can still post it.

This was an intentional change that was done to combat bots. A very large majority of bots are stolen accounts without authenticators.
You can get a free authenticator on your phone and it’s only necessary to put it in once. You’ll only ever need it again when you change computers.

Calm down.
Nothing is stopping you from making a group. You put the keystone in, it auto fills everything. You just can’t edit the description or title.
Your sub allows you to access the servers, that’s it. It’s up to you after that how you play the game.
Also, nothing is stopping you from joining other groups, looking for groups in general/trade/guild. You can still run Mythic/Mythic+

I love how you’re pointing this issue towards me, when in reality I already stated this.

not being able to put “BIG D DPS ONLY WE MEMEIN KEKW” or whatever in your description isn’t preventing you from experiencing m+

Kinda is restrictive when you’re playing Alliance.
Which, is what now? 20-80? Horde being alive and thriving?

I was 13 when they released the physical authenticator in 2008
I knew what it was and saved up $7 to get it
