And you certainly cannot solo the Tip Chest (Surge Pricing) to purple, hell you are SoL on both of those currently if you are on a low population server. Instead of scaling players that decide to group, how about scaling players who play out of hours or on servers that have no one and give everyone a chance?
I can see it now, 2-3 weeks, maybe a month and the zone will be dead, those who didn’t get everything from those events will be stuck with no way to get it done.
It does seem like bit of a design flaw, doesn’t it?
They can always make adjustments based on population trends, but I generally find it appropriate that some world content in an mmo require some sort of player collaboration. Otherwise it’s just a single player game with elaborate NPCs.
Sir, I understand your frustrations. But… Even at 3am on Sarg i’m out there doing them and drifting. On warmode none the less. You shouldnt be having no people. I see people left and right. Not all of them friendly. but yea.
On smaller servers, even on servers with some people it all depends on if those players are willing to participate.
I’m on the largest horde OCE server and I could walk up to a Scrap heap and wait minutes, not a single person comes to help.
If people are willing.
And even so, I’ve had Scrap piles where 3-4 people are there, but it still doesn’t get to 500. Granted player skill or willingness is one thing, but it scales a little too much for smaller groups that unless you really go HAM you can still miss out on the 500 points.

Yeh see that shouldn’t matter on what zone, I play on the largest horde server, second largest OCE server, there are people around, it’s just that no one wants to do anything.
I joined a group earlier, we had a total of 6 people. I even listed a groups throughout the day my time, which is peak US time, and barely anyone is joining, at most I have seen is three Scrap groups up which rarely ever fill.
Having people is not the issue, it’s having people who want to do this garbage. You could spend 2-3 hours before you see the rare spawn and with a low % drop rate on the mount and pet many people just won’t bother doing it.
The entire event is terrible. Now, the interruptions to the event scale out of control solo or small groups and you cannot get 500/500 without a large group. Also, the rare can take hours to spawn and its cosmetics have a very low drop chance.
This is the perfect storm terrible rare design. It needs to be changed to be acceptable.
Yeh it takes minimum like 10 people before you start out scaling the interruptions and get enough people to get it done at 500. And then you are borderline at the point where you shovel for 0.3 seconds before another interruption hits and you end at 500 with 10 seconds left.
Ideally you want a full raid group because then you can hit 500 with over a minute left, grab the blue buff and sit for a whole minute shovelling, that’s your best chance at cosmetics and currency.
Do groups form in group finder? Just like you’d have to make a group for the tree event in emerald dream or the zaralak caverns researchers event.
Does the tip chest have anything unique in them?

Can you solo the Theatre Troup to purple? Pretty sure you can’t, even with the scaling contribution for low participation. Be glad you can solo the Surge Pricing tip chest to green.
I can solo 66% of a scrap pile with the robot. It’s okay, I guess. Idk why, but the hazards come faster with more ppl.

You ABSOLUTELY can “solo” a scrap pile! In fact, you probably want to! To clarify:
There are TWO things you want from scrap:
1> Old bottles/currency
2> Chance at boss when you get 500/500
Since the boss is a weekly, and you don’t really get anything special from him anyway… he’s worth killing, but it’s not a big deal. Over the course of 7 days, you’ll get him. Because the odds of actually solo’ing a pile (at this point in brand new content) is almost nil. SOMEONE will show up.
But for the currency, you’ll actually get MUCH more with smaller groups than in raids. You can check my Achvs, I’ve done more than 50 of them. And in the raid groups, I’m lucky to get 30-40 currency.
When I solo/low count groups, I EASILY get 50+.
Also, the final reward seems to scale DOWN with more players. When I’m solo, the gold reward is 20-25g. In raid groups, it’s 5-7g. That adds up!
So… the boss is very meh. Once you get him, I’d never touch a raid group again. ESPECIALLY with the new change they pushed out Thurs that just OVERLOADS the screen with nonsense and mobs and junk EVERYWHERE now. ughhhh the event is so bad in a large group. ;(
Use group finder? It’s what we did for Theater, Archivists and Soup. 
Not really, was looking earlier and found one, so I made my own that took maybe 20 minutes to fill and some 1.5 hours to spawn the rare. I’ve made groups where it took 10-15 minutes and I would have three people.
The issue isn’t really all around “Oh just grab 10, it’s easy”, but finding people who want to do it, there’s already so little people farming it.
Another mount. Same issue with Scrap, but worse, since it’s every hour for only 15 minutes and you need enough people to do it, 150 events total completed in 15 minutes.
Some events take like 3 seconds, then there is the slime event that has some 18 total slimes with a spawn rate in the minutes range, so if you get that one you just reset your event and go do another.
Literally impossible to solo that event, no chance in hell, you need one event completed every 6 seconds.
Stop spreading crap, boss is at least daily with some reports of people getting the mount after multiple kills in the same day.
As for doing it solo, the main reason people are doing it is to spawn the rare, that cannot even spawn unless you hit 500, which cannot be done solo.
For this, the idea in a raid group is to get to 500 within a minute, then spend the next minute farming the currency, you get far, FAR more than 40 per pile.
If there are groups, right now there are none, that’s how little people care about this event. Yes, I do start my own, but the point is there are currently no groups and at best I might find 2 groups in LFG, that shows how little people are doing this.
My last group I just made took 1.5 hours to spawn the boss, I got myself almost 3000 currency during that time and since I already have the mount and pet from the currency, I have no need for that anymore.
You don’t get credit for Surge Pricing in a raid, and 5 people isnt enough to get an epic box if you’re the only ones doing it.
Well yeh that too, surge pricing is going to be a hit and miss, all dependant on your server, so for all those smaller servers they really are SoL on that one.
I might log onto my Moon Guard character during US peak to get that done.
