[Gem-Studded Ring of the Quickblade] & [Gem-Studded Ring of the Aurora] aren’t the same thing. If you’re giving out things via WQ please just let us equip both. Who does this harm? Am I not a world first raider because I have both? Did I instantly become Gladiator with these two leveling greens?
I don’t know how this restriction got into the game, but for the love of god nuke the rule in it’s stupid face.
I think it’s a bit of a silly restriction at this stage, i understand if it’s a unique item that has some type of special use or proc that they don’t want us stacking, but if it’s just a silly ring i don’t see why it needs to be restricted
You have to remember that pretty much ALL of Blizzard’s decisions about gear drops comes down to making sure it’s not too easy for the top guilds to level and gear alts. Because, I’ll refer you to Legion and The Emerald Nightmare, when they don’t plan around the top players ability to get their hands on gear then you have an entire raid tiers race to world first last 18 hours…
Also why are you tripping about a leveling ring? Regardless of your gear, as it stands 71-79 is the strongest you will be in TWW until you get into Champion gear after hitting 80 and starting Heroics/Raids/Mythics.
Yea, WQ and weeklies play a part in Race to World First nowadays. Everything offers upgrade mats now and some are easier to do than other to get those mats. I’d rather run Heroic Nerub’Ar then pug a +4-+7 for my runed crests ATM, for example.
So, every form of content that offers gear or upgrade mats has to be balanced around world first raiders, Gladiator PvPers, MDI/TGP dungeoners to make sure the events are balanced and fun to watch.
I don’t even think crafted rings are BiS anymore anyway, that was from times gone by.
But 2 rings sharing a proc would be an issue, so this is likely Blizzard’s blanket problem solver, and has nothing to do with WQ loot, that’s just swept up into the fix.
They are the same template item.
They are not identical mechanically.
There’s no point in a semantic argument when both statements are true in different contexts and the context the original speaker was using is clear.
This is a little annoying, i agree, but it’s probably better this way. Reduces risk of blizzard oversight where it matters and it gets players into a consistent expectation about how gear works.
But they are the same item. They may have a different set of stats but the base name is the same. The “Gem-studded Ring” part is what they match to I believe. Get a diff ring that isn’t named like that. since they are “Unique-Equipped”. I wish they removed that too, as I see it to be pointless.
