Can we seriously cancel this? The way ‘leveling time’ was implemented is the most treacherous waste of time it could have possibly been.
If I’m out leveling and then decide I’m going to take a break to try to get a skin from a dungeon, what frequently happens is I hearth out and spend 10 minutes going out to that dungeon, getting this asinine error because it’s not intuitive that you’re in a special state and not simply leveling, spending 10 more minutes going back to town because your hearth isn’t available, fixing this trash, then spending 10 more minutes going back to the dungeon you were trying to go to to begin with, assuming you didn’t just alt+F4 because it was too much damn trouble to just get what you’re trying to do done.
This is just the most egregious problem with the matter. There’s plenty of other less severe but more frequent wastes of time that are created by being forced to go back to town to talk to this stupid NPC, which frequently has me asking why this setup is beneficial or even needed. If “quest anywhere” is the new great vision for leveling in this game–and it’s a fine one–why is it some jank opt-in mess rather than just the default state of the game? The entire system is needlessly obtuse and also makes things like dungeon brackets opaque and difficult to remember.
Is this really the best solution for implementing the leveling features this expansion? Can we at least get some option to just exit out of ‘leveling time’ at any point so that when we mistakenly go out to a dungeon forgetting that it’s on, it’s not a flagrant waste of our precious time?
