I got ported into an instance of Old Hillsbrad Foothills that had already progressed a bit through the dungeon. When I joined, I realized I couldn’t heal 2/4 of my party members because “You cannot do that to a PvP target while PvP is disabled.” Loading out and back into the instance fixed the targeting issue, but the two buggy allies still glowed green instead of blue as party members normally do.
Some other maybe-relevant info:
I had warmode on.
I was in the middle of a pet battle when I accepted the queue pop.
One other party member noted they had the same issue.
I also have a screenshot if it would be helpful.

Odd bit of info that might help solve this: If you reload UI during a pet battle, the text colors of your own pets turn from green to red like they’re hostile. Really weird. Maybe it affected gameplay beyond a name text color.
This just happened to me also. Old hillsbrad foothills, I wasn’t in a pet battle. I had pvp disabled at the time, i was just floating in nagrand when queue popped. I couldn’t heal the tank. I eventually asked the group to vote kick me… what else could I do?
This also just happened to me. Old Hillsbrad Foothills. I had pvp disabled. I tried to talking to the group but no one talked back, so I left.
This just happened to me on an Alliance Proudmoore character. I couldn’t heal two specific players from Sargeras, but I could heal everyone else. Nothing seemed to fix it, so we just abandoned the group.
(This was also in Old Hillsbrad Foothills.)
Im having the same issue.
Wasn´t able to heal the tank and another DPS due to that error. relog did not help, /reload ui did not help.
character: Shaman, Healer, lvl 18 Horde
dungeon: The escape from Durnholde
server: Zul´jin
Same thing happened to me. Joined Old Hillsbrad as a healer while the dungeon was in progress. Was not able to heal or cast helpful spells on two targets, including the tank. Same error message was displayed. We did, however, finish the dungeon. Warmode was on for my character.
this happenned to me today in old hillsbrad foothills, with either targeting the player directly or using a healbot
This happened to me today also. please remove this instance until fixed.
If the party isn’t ALL in or out of WM, this is what happens. Why, I’m not sure. But I’ve had to bail on OHB groups because I couldn’t heal anyone.
This happened to me today. It looks like its still an issue over 2 years after it was initially reported. I actually got kicked from my group with a 30min dungeon deserter to boot.
