You can see the population decline

Sitting in stormwind during peak hours. Barely anyone was saying anything in trade. SoD servers is not going to last.

This is on Crusader Strike.

What I don’t get is why so many people left suddenly when not even 1 week ago they were having fun in SOD.

TBC is not coming anytime soon, and MOP is in 1 month.

The same game mode people enjoyed is still here and they can still play it exactly the same way they did 5-6 days ago, but no, because of an announcement, it’s now considered dead and unplayable.

I just don’t get it.

Unsure about others but there’s zero reason to play the game outside of a SE lockout if you PvP. There’s no Bloodmoon anymore (since phase 6), BRM only hosts a passing Hunter bot, and AB after a long queue is about it for PvP.

I doubt I’m the only one but a week in I was already bored knowing this phase only offered SE and was awaiting something more. Blizzard announcing this was it weeks later was the only confirmation needed to leave, had been considering it for almost a month and looking at other games.

^Yep, it feels really, really lame.

Glad I didn’t waste my time raiding for Ashbringer so I can only have fun with it in more Scarlet Enclave raids. Lol I’m just kidding, raiding isn’t that fun.

Not even doing the bare minimum in fixing Blood Moon or having a new World PvP event in EPL on the way out the door just feels so !&#%ing lazy.

Because there’s a definitive end now, people don’t want to dedicate time that doesn’t carry over to anything.

Ok, sure, people can still do the raid if they haven’t…but why? You’re not prepping for anything, no new content is getting added, there’s no reason to chase anything, for the fun of it? Ok, but that only works till the first time you clear it, after that why keep going?

That’s what people aren’t getting, they pulled last call early after just extending happy hour, whoever is still around is going to get what they want and bounce.

I’d play more if PvP was more active but it’s not. They left the content outside of SE dead af and then pulled the plug.

Because people are hive minded BUMs

I disagree. Wild Growth is still popping. IF and SW both packed with people. LFG channel is full of people filling raids and groups for all levels of content.

People who play SoD are going to continue to play SoD until classic+ because no other game mode gives us what SoD does.

Suppose Wild Growth will be the last bastion for SoD players then, because OP is right on Crusader Strike.

With no new confirmed content people are, rightfully I believe, taking a break from SoD. A lot of people have been going hard since December 2023, some with a break here or there, and a smaller few straight through. SoD was a massive success, it’s had a great run, and now people are moving on.

Yes welcome to wildgrowth alliance please join so i can find a group for my new hunter and i help with 60s groups with my friend when we can kara zg ect…

It’s crazy. No version of WoW has ever had this cadence. Retail is trying out 8 week patches but even then the side patches are silly content rather than primary raid content. In SoD we have done a full raid about every 9 weeks for 9 tiers. That’s nuts.

After 18 months we can finally let off the pedal. Like yes a lot of people stopped in phase 3 but plenty didn’t - if you are part of that core 90k SoD base you’ve been gaming non-stop.

Finally we get a chance to catch our breaths. Personally I’m enjoying a bit of :turtle: between raid logging the raid, enjoying the vibe.

I envy Alliance so much. I see clusters of Alliance in every raid/dungeon hub. Come to Org. It’s a ghost town all day now. Can’t even get a healer for a ZG or Naxx at this point.

FANTASY LIFE i: The Girl Who Steals Time dropped last week. over 800k in the last week of sales and growing.

It’s really a shame. SoD was the greatest version of wow I’ve experienced and it left on a sour note with no PvP update or balance.

All the events they released are dead, AB queues were over an hour today, and the only sense of enjoyment I receive now outside of a raid log is PvP in Tyr’s hand.

That’s all I got. Until classic+ is announced, I’ll see yall in EPL.

It’s so hard to make groups for dungeons now it’s pretty bad… they really decimated this version population with a single thread. Also no signs of QoL or improvements on the already slow endgame for new people or alts.

RIP SOD

Cities still seem populated to me on CS. Sure not alll the time, but usually.

Games definitely not dead yet. Maybe when MOP releases. I’m gonna still play though.
