How can I turn this off? I don’t want reminders every time I log on that I “can now choose a new mining specialization to unlock” I want to turn these reminders for all professions off, permanently.

Or maybe choose a profession spec?

You turn it off by unlocking a specialisation - dont need to spend any kps - just unlock it.

Except it doesn’t. I have all of them open and all points spent yet I have that notification up all the time. Have no such issues with any other profession on any character. The mining one seems to be broken.

Let me be more specific: I do not want to select a specification, I want the option to turn the notification about selecting a specification off. I want to dump all my points into the specification that allows gathering while mounted (60) and it still asks me to unlock more specifications, its annoying UI clutter that I would like not to see every time I log in.

You can still put all your points into whatever specification you want. You just need to open a new specification and click on the opening talent (which costs no knowledge points to do) and then go back to the specification you want to put all your points into. This is the only way to stop getting the message. (I see some people saying there might be a bug - if you have opened the tree and clicked once and are still getting this message Id go to bug forum)

I am actually having this same issue with Jewelcrafting, but I do not have any available specializations or sub-specializations to unlock.
On another character with Herbalism, I do have some sub-specializations available to learn still (but I’m undecided) - and I do not receive this message/alert each time I log in…
Unlocking other spec does not cost any points, just unlock them and go back to the one specific branch you’re working on to get gathering while mounted.
I had that problem, then I found that I had a specialization available for last expansion, not the current expansion. Choosing that fixed it. Hope that’s what’s going on for you and this helps.
