You Can’t Have Everything In Life?

Why every time people talk about topics like:

  • Keep mage tower up.

  • Change rng on some cosmetics like mounts with 0.1% less drop.

  • FOMO questlines, story, events…etc

  • ETC

There’s always on the forums players saying phrases like " You Can’t Have Everything In Life"?, Don’t you get that WoW is a game compared to real life, we came here to avoid some real life issues and it’s a safe space for some players…etc

Its like telling someone that he/she can’t get all achievements for a game in Steam, when usually a lot of games allowed it.

I think Blizzard has introduced too much FOMO into the community that now players want that kind of validation in a game instead of thinking about the impact on the game for next years, compared to other games that even if you start today, you could earn everything introduced to the game in some way (including challenge content).

Also yes, FOMO bad.

I do think it’s annoying that there is so much that has been removed from the game, looking back. It has really added up. It’s unfortunate but I doubt it’s ever gonna change.

There is so much FOMO nowadays that it barely makes any sense. Some of the fomo items look ouright bad, are easy to get and should not be fomo to begin with, yet people bash on others for not having them because of simply not caring. Makes people actually go waste their time to not be looked down upon by others. You can do expansion long fomos, but those 3-6month ones are annoying.

I want to be a unique snowflake. How will that be possible without FOMO and excloosives?

Blizz what’s up with [insert trendy buzzword here] like do you even play your own game lol??

That’s quitter mentality… you CAN have everything in life, it just takes effort and planning, or being born a hereditary multi-millionaire.

That doesn’t negate business models.

Limited time collectibles are objectively a good thing. That’s why every single collectible line does them. Every. Single. One.

It’s a game, the only collectibles that should be like that are the ones on which the conditions can’t be replicated like seasonal gladiator mounts, other example are some skins on MOBAs that are attached to a season because it represents the player engagement during that period of time, if the objetive is something that you can do any time like some holiday mount with low drop, new mage tower new skins…etc it should provide a better field for every player.

The community changed, not the way the game is made.

This is a game, not life. People really do forget that sometimes.

This isn’t the same thing. An MMO has trophies and deadlines. It keeps people playing during specific times and rewards people for their effort. Getting all the achievements on a game on steam isn’t the same as getting a time sensitive trophy / cosmetic in a game like WoW.

I disagree. You can go back and get 99% of this game whenever you want. The people who like time sensitive trophies should have something to aim for too.

Imho,it’s true you can’t have everything in life if so i would be married and have kids the same applies to the game(unless there is a true way to do that).

No one can “introduce fomo”. That exists(or doesn’t) within people.

This literally has zero to do with your topic you introduced. What in the actual heck does someone’s “safe space” have to do with whether they have access to every single thing a game has ever introduced?

I don’t want everything. I just want 1 thing. That’s it. Not too much to ask for right? Spent my whole life working for it and still cannot have it…

Oh you meant in game. Yeah either Mechognome Druids or Enhancement as a Tank Spec is pretty much the only 2 things I want out of this game.

If only people would put as much effort into life, as they seemingly do to get pixelated goodies in a game, imagine what we, as a people, could get done.
