Oh come on brother. This is not a false dichotomy.
Yes, you are correct. I just think it is not genuine to attribute his post to something like Dual-Spec. They are clearly receptive to changes that the community wants.
It is actually not over. The advocates for Dual-Spec will keep posting, I am quite sure of that. I see the same push for Dual-Spec that I saw when people were against GDKPs. More-so actually now for Dual-Spec than anti-GDKP. So sure, you are probably correct on the launch of the servers. Sure, but I think you are lying to yourself a little bit if you don’t think it is a possibility at all, my dude.
Also, if you guys cannot figure out a better argument besides “They said!” or “The code base is completely different!”, I don’t see you guys winning the argument.
Theres no argument to be had.
Dual spec isnt coming.
It doesnt even belong in classic.
Blizzard wont bother adding no matter how many retail players beg and cry.
These are the facts.
You people are no different to the paladins begging for retail class changes in classic.
I get that you’re firmly against dual-spec and think it doesn’t fit in Classic, but let’s be honest here—Blizzard has shown they’re willing to make changes when the player base asks for them. Keyrings, the guild system, LFG UI, adjustments to raid loot systems? None of those were in “pure” Vanilla either.
Saying there’s “no argument to be had” doesn’t actually address the benefits dual-spec could bring. It’s not about turning Classic into Retail or making it easy mode—it’s just about giving players a bit more flexibility without having to burn 100g every time they want to swap from PvE to PvP, or tanking to healing.
At the end of the day, there’s a whole community of players who would love to see this change, especially on the Fresh servers that are already experimenting with new ideas. If you’re happy with how things are on Era servers, that’s great—no one’s trying to take that away. But it’s not unreasonable to explore options on where people are open to QoL improvements.
This is an obvious change that should have been implemented in 2019.
But i think the real reason they wont do it, is because then content would be cleared even faster, and it would bring more complaints to retune boss difficulty.
And we all know blizzard doesnt like doing actual work lmao.
