Incorrect. SoD shares the same codebase as era, which is why they were unable to do a lot of bold sweeping changes in SoD like altering talent tree structures and had to do weird tricks to pull off certain changes like buffing shadowform without affecting era.
I’m not a duel spec supporter btw (I prefer 10g respecs), just pointing out you are wrong on this point. Duel spec definitely is a switch that requires zero dev time, for better or worse.

Sorry guys, the original claim was that new raids arent coming to SOD. There was no evidence to support this claim. Unless they explicitly state that, its just speculation.
SoD isn’t over, and we have word right from the horse that they plan to continue supporting the servers. We dont know what that means.
But what we do know is that the basis of this debate cannot be proven, as no evidence can be provided, and unfortunately means your stance does not have grounds.
They are completely separate clients and are even separated at the launch menu

This is wrong lmao. Sod and era share the exact same client. Blizzard has said as much multiple times. SoD is as barebones as it is partly because it’s tethered to the era client and messing with code from the original game effects era. They can only add new code, changing old code has consequences to era.
They arent separate at launcher. You can just go to your realmlist and click SoD at the bottom on your same era client. You know this, right?
They just make it so you can launch directly into your preferred game from the launcher if youd like. All the same client.
They literally have different clients in the launcher bro.

Original era shared the client, but era is now been given it’s separate base because era is about to be bigger than sod by an astronomical amount

I played it through phases 1-3… and during that time it in the era launcher. If they separated it, that happened later after I quit. Duel spec was in before it became separated if that’s even true, so my point stands, duel spec was shoved in the era codebase at one point. It’s a switch flip.
Lots of typing for a feature you still aren’t getting and raids you aren’t getting.

You know, you originally had some of the best (not great though) arguments against dual-spec, but you are delving into really bad-and bad faith arguments. I just wish people against dual-spec would actually stick to the arguments that make sense. Like thinking that dual-spec will fundamentally change the gameplay. (Even though it won’t)

Have you noticed when you have a friend online SoD, it just says WoW Classic? It used to say SOD. Its because it uses the same client.

SoD is an entirely different code base from Era bro.
Because they use some core elements doesn’t mean they are the same code base.
That’s like saying Windows 11 is the same as Windows 7.

So you are claiming they have seperated them since phase 4. Well guess what, duel spec was added in phase 2, when it was 100% tethered to the era client. Meaning at one point duel spec was part of the era code base. So the work is already there even if SoD got seperated later. It’s the flip of a switch.
I’m not even in favor of duel spec, but I have to debunk lies and logical fallacies, you are only doing harm to actual points against its inclusion.
