Hey Bilz…

I just wanted to let you know how lucky you are to have a game as great as WoW classic, and my second favorite game (which you have largely abandoned, Heroes of the Storm).

This company is a mere shell of its former self. Blizzard used to stand for excellence. People who love games, playing games in genres they loved, doing the research and making a game in that genre 1000x better than anything else on the market.

Starcraft and Starcraft 2 are the best RTS games of their time (i still can’t find a modern equivalent better than SC2, Total War Warhammer II is pretty close, but that’s not quite the same genre). Overwatch is probably the best team shooter out there to this day and it sure as heck was the day it launched. Hearthstone has become too complex and costly for me to follow anymore, but when i did play it back in simpler times, it was fantastic. I also love Diablo II and III gets a bad wrap IMO.

The point is that you’ve never made bad games. You could do no wrong in the eyes of so many of us. And you’re throwing it all away. You are cannibalizing all of that good will you’ve built up over the years with stupid decision making (mobile games) and pandering to a barbaric (yes, that’s EXACTLY the correct term) foreign country with a large population who shall remain nameless.

I’ve been a loyal customer since Warcraft II. I have absolutely adored every single game you have made since. Even genres i don’t particularly care for (collectible card games, first person shooters for example).

I hold my nose with every penny i continue to spend on playing Classic WoW. It’s just that good. And you know what else it is? It’s a game that was made by a different company.

The Blizzard entertainment we all grew up to know and love is dead. What’s left is a soul-less, ignorant, greedy “corporation”.

The amount of good-will Blizzard had was absolutely immense. Nintendo level immense.

Congratulations on squandering it.

I’m ashamed to be a customer. And who knows how long i’ll even remain one. Half my friends that came back for Classic have left based on your recent Hearthstone Decision making. How much fun will the game be if i have no one to play it with?

To the average Blizzard employee and designer, i salute you. To the decision makers at the top, you’ve lost your souls. Enjoy your riches. Enjoy your wonderful lives built on the backs of far better men and women who founded this company.

I wonder what St. Peter will think when you finally come face to face with him at the gates?

play the game or don’t. stop living in the past. enjoy the present cause it’s a gift

Holding your nose still leaves you a hypocrite. You seem to have all these moral issues with Blizz, but “Muh Classic!”. Basically, you lack the moral strength to back up your words.

Also - speak for your self - Blizz has never impressed me, what with their theft of IP all through their lore, and even some of their mob/boss designs.

Newsflash - Much of the way America works is just as barbaric. No universal health care, mass murders nearly daily, a corrupt President, balkanized voter base… both countries basically run by oligarchs.

And, lol - teh whole St Peter bit shows what an overwrought attention seeker you are.

Honestly, classic could be a lot better.

Itemization is a mess.
Some specializations are unplayable and have no fun factor whatsoever they’re that bad.
Raid tuning is a atrocious, the content present no reason to gear up at all. You might as well run 30 man raids in greens.
Tons of bugs.

Of course it makes me a hypocrite. Assuming you are capable of reading that was the whole point of the post.

But i didn’t write it for you. I don’t care what you think. I just want Blizzard to know how i feel. Your opinion is irrelevant to me.

On the off-chance someone at the company reads it, i’ve done all that i intended in the first place.

This medium here is for players to discuss things between each other. I mean, if you expect folks to not reply or flame something like this, maybe send an email instead? I’m pretty sure the execs dont read the forums …

The execs absolutely do read the forums. Blue posts are rare because, as any company with a decent PR department would attest, it’s often best to simply not say anything. They post when they have something to say and nothing to lose by saying it (a rarity, as you might expect).

This is one of the dumbest criticisms you can have. Different items with different stats ARE A GOOD THING, THEY MAKE YOU THINK ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER AND HOW THE GAME WORKS. WoW Classic has the best itemization there is, because there are a lot of unique items, a lot of different stats, meaning you get to decide what the best option is!

Company of Heroes was a much better RTS than Starcraft 2. Atleast for online competitive play. It was less about apm and more about strategy.

So it seems like the entire TLDR of this post is: “You guys are an awful company, but WoW is good so I’ll just keep playing that, maybe not, who knows.”
