I think you are leaning really hard on the “need” word.

We can’t have more tenders so we’ll take dino tenders instead

Then perhaps you should explain it.

Do you think it’s possible that maybe those are different people?

I was reading an article about Bethesda’s first horse armor download just a few days ago and this is basically what Todd said. Despite all the backlash and memes and bad press about it people kept buying it.

People like to say things like don’t buy it so companies get the message that we don’t want it and vote with your wallet. Well people did vote with their wallets and micro transactions won.

Edit: words/spelling are hard.

I didn’t and I have wow tokens in my bags I won’t sell to keep others back from buying this mount

If only I could do something like that for myself. /sigh.

It was a very smart move to have that bruto mount. Really smart.

And how many billions do you all freely give to the Apple corporation every year?

If it makes people feel better about themselves, I’m all for it

I’m seeing way, way, WAY more than 5 of them in my Dornogal shard. I’m seeing damn near 50 of them at a time and when I look an hour later it’s the same number from completely different people.

Say what you will about in-game purchases for a subscription-based game, but 1. literally every MMO does it and 2. Blizzard very clearly made a hilarious amount of money from this mount.

Just as a reminder: the Celestial Steed made more money than StarCraft II. A mount that probably took two artists and a developer a few days to make generated more money, by a large margin, than an entire video game release. People will complain endlessly about cash shops, DLC, MTX, and all that stuff (and I get it), but you really cannot deny that these things absolutely print money for Blizzard. Corporations are by definition profit-driven and beholden to their shareholders, and those shareholders will see a ludicrous amount of profit generated by something that cost extremely little to produce and be like “yeah, this is good, keep doing that.”

Because the people complaining are just envious poors, and meanwhile $90 is nothing to me so I can ride and use the AH in style. Thanks Blizzard.

And?

Shocking how some people can complain and not be the same people that bought it! :scream:

How dare people buy a product they want at a price they’re willing to pay!

Millions would mean around 30k bought it instantly.

At some point you are just doing your job and giving people what the want.

It may be five people on your dead server but obviously you haven’t been on Area 52 it was wall to wall dinosaurs. There were four stacked outside the entrance to the ah alone blocking the doorway.

It’s a lot more than for my guy literally just about everybody in the city is on one
