I was silenced recently for requesting dreadlocks.
Hey guess what, OP. This isn’t a freedom of speech right to expression issue, nor do your 1st amendment rights apply here. This is a video game forum owned by a company.
(People who want to rant about the 1st never even know what it is.)

If this happens in game then you can easily bring it up to a GM and they will unsilence you, since requesting dreadlocks isn’t something against the ToS. Account wide silencing is determined by a bot, based on how many times you get reported, and sometimes people get mass reported by trolls. Once again not the same thing

LOL, still has nothing to do with the first amendment. Plus, I doubt you got silenced for “requesting dreadlocks”.
This doesn’t change the fact that you’re required to follow the rules of that american company while you’re using their services. 1st amendment does not apply here

There is no free speech in the forums or in the game.
Your posts can be deleted, you can be silenced , suspended and banned for speaking out regardless of your intention .
Then wait for an answer, they’ll unsilence you as long as you weren’t actually doing anything against ToS
I guess it’s a good thing free speech doesn’t apply to things like a private forum or business.
I was un silenced, just an example of players abusing the system.
And then the system immediately fixed the wrongdoing by those players. I don’t see the problem here
Only after making a ticket about it, which was responded to 2 days later.
Use live chat. Last time took me about 10 minutes to get my silence reverted.
So this post was restored by staff but since the community disagrees with me it will be flagged again.

The right to free speech means the government can’t arrest you for what you say.
It doesn’t mean anyone has to listen to your bs or host you while you share it.
The first amendment doesn’t shield you from criticism or consequences.
If your yelled at, boycotted, or banned from an internet community , your free speech rights aren’t being violated.
It’s just the people listening think you’re a jerk, and showing you the door.

Because it has no place in a World of Warcraft forum. This isn’t the forums for the United States Constitution, it’s the forums for an international game which has rules in place which say to keep the topic of posts on World of Warcraft. Hence why you’re getting flagged
