No one quits forever.
People keep saying that but the modern dev team (or more accurately, it’s leaders) are trying really hard to make them stay away for good. And tbh, it may be working.
2 bad expansions in a row. The MMO market coming back to life. How many more chances will WoW be given?
Probably true for me.
Unfortunately, not true for the dozens of friends over the past two decades who logged out for that last time quietly, never having said goodbye.
Uhh there might not be anything to come back to this time.
Not for a good 8 months or more at least.
I wouldn’t be betting on Blizzard picking itself up anytime soon.
I am not Arnold whatevernager brah
Man, it’s sad seeing coming back to the forums and seeing all these people who have devoted so much to WoW be in so much denial. The game is bad, company is worse and it is much more likely WoW is a thing of the past for anyone with a brain.
If everyone that quit always comes back then WOW would still be at 12 mil subs right now.
Yeah but even an old grey muzzled dog you’ve had all your life who doesn’t do anything anymore is still loved and fed.
All they did besides creating a good game that lasted that way a couple years was create disappointment and frustration from a body of customers we now know they’ve despised.
They can’t hide their animosity towards their customers anymore and it shows through every facet of the game that these are the kind of people, you know the cosbeesuite criminals, that lie with ease, manipulate people for sex, and just plain all around dirt bags.
Its true I’ll probably always come back to do some content, GW2 will be my main game when cantha drops but I will definitely come back to WoW eventually. I am not ignorant to think that a lot of people won’t quit forever tho. I don’t blame anyone that stays away in fact I recommend it I’m just hoping new management makes the game better and removes cancerous systems.
more like 130 million… but i get what you are saying.
Well yea I’ll stay but I’m now a 2mmo guy from now on. WoW just doesn’t do it all anymore, and in fact completely fails at many aspects.
Well considering population is higher year over year, it is true for them too. Breh.
Soon you’ll see
You’ll remember you belong to me
You’ll be back
Time will tell
You’ll remember that I served you well
Oceans rise
Empires fall
We have seen each other through it all
And when push
Comes to shove
I will send a fully armed battalion to remind you of my love
DA DA DA DA DAT DA, DAT DA DA DA
DAT DA DA DA DAYEADA

More like 120million.
But it’s at about 5-6 now.
Plenty of people quit forever. And plenty of people start for the first time in every expansion. Some stay, some don’t.
And to be honest, that’s healthy. There’s no game that I think should become a permanent fixture in anyone’s life. Circumstances change, people get less time and more priorities to balance. Even if you ignored the quality of the game it’s natural for people to move on.
Got a source for that, big man?
Yeah…all third party mmo population aggregators. Google it.
8 years ago Blizzard announced 100 million accounts have been created. Clearly a lot of people stay away forever. My friends list is filled with “Offline for X years”. Would love to see some of them come back for D2 remake.
