Yogg-Saron the primary antagonist of Wrath of the Lich King?

I mean obviously the expansion is “Wrath of the Lich King”, but hear me out.

Throughout all of WoW the old gods have been the greatest threat to Azeroth, the old gods have been pulling the strings on the madness of Neltharion and Sargeras, the creation of the naga, the invading elementals, and of course the titans had a fail safe system to destroy azeroth if

Now, in WotLK, we see a couple major locations where the fate of Arthas/The Lich King may have been influenced by yogg-saron:

First off there is the frostmourne cavern in dragonblight where Arthas first picked up frostmourne and became a deathknight. If you visit this location in game the walls are covered with what appears to be saronite, and cracks in the floor appear to show that under the ice there is a massive deposit of saronite.

Secondly, we find that after arthas fought illidan he cut out his own heart and threw it down a hole, where ICC now stands… and at the bottom of this hole? more saronite and a population of Yogg-saron’s faceless.

Nah they retconned Arthas and said he was in control since the beginning
Also the Jailer was the real mastermind!
The end of Warcraft 3 saga xd

what counts as being “in control”

Doing stuff out of his own will.

what if you choose to do something of your on will but you’re being manipulated?

Then you’re a politician.

It’s sadly a storyline that was never fleshed out and later dropped.

My interpretation is since fighting a tentacle of yogg when Arthas and anubarak went into azjol nerub in warcraft 3, Arthas was seen as an enemy of Yogg.

The lich king stole yoggs old minions the nerubians by enslaving them in undeath. Yogg also saw him as an escape, eventually Arthas would assault Ulduar and try to fight him. His minions dug deep into northrend for saronite. They assaulted sholazar and were about to be at war with the Titan keepers and the dragon aspects. If Arthas defeated us in ICC and Ulduar wasn’t already assaulted by us, we most likely would of attacked it.

But we did beat Yogg before Arthas, so now supposedly left unopposed by Yogg we assaulted ICC and who’s theme plays during his death? Yoggs.

“ no king rules forever”
Yogg was the god of death, a title Arthas stole from him.

The saronite has no effect on undead but Arthas was not fully undead. He was in between. Shadowmourne was forged to make a opening in Arthas’s plate of the damned. A weapon forged of pure saronite.

It’s possible this is what weakened Arthas enough to allow Ashbringer to destroy Frostmourne. Since Arthas’s armor as a death knight was saronite but his Lich King armor was forged by the nathrezim.

He wears the entire suit of armor nerzhul was imprisoned in.

Sadly, we may never know.

Yeah its unfinished Yogg won, we dreaming.

Roll for initiative.

Nat 20 to keep playing
Anything under is divorce

She trying to hang out, she better get them parses up.

Nothing in WoW has made sense since they made undead a playable race.

And for that reason yes, Yogg is the primary antagonist of this expansion. But also no.

Tell her she’s gotta get a 99 average if she wants your attention, you don’t associate with newbs

Or level up her charisma and use seduce

Gotta pump those numbers up

So is mine but because she doesn’t even play, let alone parse.

I had a simpler theory like 12 years ago. How Yogg was secretly feeding off the Scourge, who were inadvertently using so much saronite. In turn, the saronite was becoming empowered by Yogg making it more valuable to the Scourge. By killing Yogg we ended that power exchange, and this weakness contributed to the fall of Arthas. However, I also imagine that if Yogg full escaped Ulduar, he would have reincorporated all of his black blood and turned the Scourge against Arthas.

Yogg made it out “alive” because time is irrelevant to the void

I doubt many people care about the old gods. They were barely in the original games and probably only conjured up here to be content for the chopping lists.

What’s wrong with the undead being playable?
Just becauase you’re a zombo doesn’t mean ur a scourge
