Yo Warriors! How's prot feeling?

With all the nerfs and tweaks made since the expansions pre-patch, it’s hard to tell where warriors ended up. I always hear a lot about the Pallies and DK tanks, but not much about the other tanks.

From a purely tanky, defensive, not taking damage, staying alive protective, how are warriors feeling?

For the sake of the conversation, let’s discount damage and utility for a minute and focus on the survivability aspect.

How are warriors looking right now? Are you still kings of mitigation? How did the healing nerfs affect you? Are you still able to single handedly heal through the damage you take with just your healing talents alone, or do you need to be babysat by a healer?

What’s your confidence level when you pull 3 packs? Is it “Oh yeah, I got this!” or is it “Well, I hope the healers awake!”?

Good. Great. In keys and pvp, anyways.

It’s just a bit of a pity that Prot Paladin is like giga s++++ tier in keys after their rework.

Feelin’ like a brick wall.

Depends on the packs. :dracthyr_yay_animated: Usually the issue is mechanics killing dps rather than white swings on you.

Beautiful. I love it.

I’ve always had my warrior on standby as an alt that I play later in the patch cycle. Some times it’s up front and I play it early on and other times I play it as a primary alt later in the week after my main’s stuff is done. I played mine a lot during Dragonflight.

I love the warrior’s gameplay, transmogs, aesthetic. And I was worried that it might have gotten nerfed beyond repair earlier on. It’s nice to hear that you’re still going strong. I think I might dust mine off. He’s L80, but JUST L80. Maybe I’ll start gearing him up and playing him as my “end of the week, looking for stuff to do” toon.

They in my opinion are the tackiest tank raise they mainly rely on sheer raw mitigation. Which means more room for mistake.

The paladin that is s++++ isn’t because they are tanky but more because of the damage they do.

They are the best at mitigating physical damage. Your kit allows you to pretty much negate most of it that you will barely see your health move at times.

You will mostly see movement agaisnt hard hitting magical attacks but even those can be deal with with careful use of your available magic defensive cds

Still a baby tank (+10s) but they overall feel good. The only real complaint is it’s easy to get rage starved and aggro gen is a bit low. Unless we’re talking big packs, there are often times thunderclap/shield clam are on CD and I’m just sorta sitting there with nothing to hit. Spamming revenge isn’t really an option since rage is needed for shield block/ignore pain, and autoattack rage gen is kinda sad.

Also no ranged interrupt means rounding up casters can be near impossible, and the minimum range on heroic throw can is annoying.

I think the big problem going into 11.1 is that rage gen is getting nerfed. Which is going to hurt BIG time.

For when i do play it, it feels great. I AM THE WALL.

But I am a little scared of the rage change that is coming.

LOL, freudian typo?

thane is okey, a lot of rage but it gets a little boring at one point. I like more colosssus but if feels a little slower to play, plus it needs a buff of damage.

Cant do 3 packs anymore at endgame key levels unless its melee trash with low damage, due to how poorly designed prot warrior is.

Actually the best at mitigating physical damage is prot paladin atm. 3 ways to become immune to damage for 8 seconds, and those can be chained. They can also chain magic damage immunity.

so here’s the deal, I am currently doing 8s with a 617 prot pally but holy BALLS does it feel stressful to play (constnatly low on mana and my HP is always Yo-yoing all over the place whereas my warrior is pretty smoothed out healing wise)

I obviously need to watch a video or something.
