Yo DKS. What do you think about the potential of class visuals?

Hey, Death Knights. Been playing a Death Knight recently and it’s honestly pretty fun. Unholy’s not a bad spec imo, but class visuals have been on the mind recently. What do you all think about the potential of class visuals like the Warlock fel-fire? A Maldraxxus class visual, a Revendreth class visual, Maw class visual, etcetera – or any other class visuals to reskin your spells into. A good idea or not really?

glyphs for different colors of deathcoil would be nice

I wish I could change the eyecolor of my dk to red and also cast red themed spells

“BuT It’S NoT lOrE aCcUrAtE”
This is not even a thing anymore.

Would also be cool to tame undead pets just like hunter. Changing only the appearence of your ghoul, gargoyle, magus, etc.

Visual flavour is one of my favourite things to play with. It’s the whole reason I made an Unholy DK in the first place; I wanted a sort of Forsaken paragon or dark paladin type character.

The only things I would personally want to change are to give Defile a better visual, maybe a shadowy version of that frost AoE disorient ability. Epidemic could use a little updating too maybe.
Though I’m also not all that interested in the pets and summons. A glyph to replave Army of the Dead with plague slimes could be fun

We’re long overdue for some visual love. At the very least we should be getting pet customization similar to what warlock got. There’s no reason we can’t have abomination back in some form as well as the ability to use all the other cool undead mobs in the game.

I’d also like to see death and decay visually themed around each spec. We should be able to make it change to blue/green/red similar to how it changed when we picked night fae. Also make it easier to see I use a weakaura to make sure I’m standing in it at this point.

Abomination Limb should be spec/class themed the way they’re changing convoke’s appearance for druid.

Wasn’t there themed wraith walk glyphs at some point as well? We should have those too.

I’m sure there’s other abilities I’m missing but my biggest complaints by far are pets and death and decay.

Honestly wouldnt mind that. But id rather just have a pet sacrifice that increases disease damage by a % or increases ramp up speed. Tired of that pet running around all glitchy and laggy.

If there is a class visual update then it should be a class update.

I dont know why people want each spec to be its own class, but thats not what a DK is and Blizzard narrowing each of the specs to just frost attacks, unholy attacks or blood attacks has been the biggest disservice to the class.

Look at shaman between the 2 dps specs. They are different yet very similar to feeling like a part of the same class. Its probably one of the best classes to be used as an example of a class and the specs being specializations of a certain aspect of that class. DK is far from being that.

This is in part of spec design and things like mastery that lead players only wanting the abilities for that spec to be of that damage type. Frost only want frost abilities or abilities to turn into frost because of the mastery increasing frost damage. That is a problem.

We need to get back to being DK’s first before any visuals actually take place.

I agree with this. They’re already doing this with warlocks. Why not give us dk’s some pet customization options

Hopefully they will in the future, idk if y’all have any specific pet customization options you’d want added but mine immediately off the top of my head are the spiked ghouls from icecrown, vargul, wights, more skeleton options (like rattlegore and the classic skeletal soldier), and maldraxxi variants of classic undead (ghoul, skeleton soldier, etc).
