Yeah he’s always had a coolness about himself and down to earth vibe.
I was glad to see him back since I didn’t have the pleasure to play the expansions/and vanilla when he was leading the ship per se.
I’m not sold on TWW and I do feel he was trying to sell it hard but if he’s only really steering the story so to speak in TWW onward. I can’t say I can feel confident in the general parts of the game to keep me entertained.
The story may or may not improve but if ion and co are still badly doing open world stuff then I can’t keep paying a sub.

I had a similar feel. Personally, literally everything in War Within seemed pretty cool to me except for anything involving the Earthen.
Not trying to make excuses for him, as i’m obviously biased, but I feel he had no choice considering the Earthen and Khaz Algar were set up & hinted at during Dragonflight, which was most likely in development prior to him returning.
I don’t think anyone could have sold the crowd on Earthen, not even Billy Mays.

Story wise I think he’ll do ok. Nothing great but I think he wants to end this on his terms too in some way. I just don’t see him as before 'cause he has no influence on the design.

Should be on the SoD team to help with the unfinished zones that the team spoke on recreating at blizzcon. Would be great to see the dragon isles come to life from Metzens view point (with less Disney nonsense) though I know for certain this will never occur just a wish. Though it would be an amazing throwback to his behind the scenes where he discussed how terrifying the dragon isles was be cool to see his version come to life. But since the SoD team has announced at Blizzcon the visit to unfinished areas of Azeroth in the classic version, who better than the legend himself. But understand this is different version, Back to retail I can’t wait to see what he does with the world soul saga story very excited, I’m looking forward to all versions of wow great value for wow sub at the moment so many great different versions of this game
I feel like they paid him to come out on stage, then shoved him back in a closet somewhere.
I guess I don’t have that much faith in Blizzard anymore not to abuse something as much as possible for $$$
