Yet they never allow this question to be asked

Will vendor gear be brought back for all pvp and pve gear? Instead the last three xpacs they have tripled down, on RNG. To it even being more grindy each xpac, with no feeling of actual reward and working towards anything. I dont mind a long grind, where you feel like your working towards your gear and class. What I hate is the feeling of nothing, when you only get AP drops over a month, due to the crappy RNG. Might as well not even waste resources on buying a seal.

I seem to remember a vendor on Broken Shore, then later on the Vindicaar, that sold gear for certain currencies. Currencies you could earn in those zones.

And in WoD there was a vendor in Tanaan that did the same thing.

And as of 8.1 there is now a vendor near your factions war table ship that sells gear for a certain earnable currency.

Not the same, as the badges though, which you get dropped off of bosses. Which is what is needed. You could then pick and choose by stats the gear you wanted. The Azurite Armor vendor is a joke pure and simple. Especially since it will be based on RNG for you even to get a piece, to scrap.

You didn’t get to pick and choose what stats you wanted. You had a list of gear you could buy and we’re stuck with that outside of reforging.(At least in MoP.)

You didn’t even get that many slots for gear to pick from either.

Actually a huge choice for the pvp vendors.

Would prefer pvp vendors again instead of rng.

Wrath was great and the best, why they had the most subs ever for that one. Wall to wall vendors, with lots of choice.

If it’s something they aren’t interested in doing I doubt they’d address it in a tightly controlled Q&A – they aren’t picking random questions out of the forum, at best they are fishing for a topic or two that seems to be on some peoples minds but is pretty standard for industry Q&As.

Which pretty much guarantees they will never bring back the old school gear vendors for pvp and pve. Only five days left on my sub, and moving onto a game that does that.

I’d personally rather they’d do away with “fill up this bar and get this specific piece!” for PvP.

Ok, bye bye i guess.

From a developers point of view, it’s not really rewarding to just maintain someone else’s ideas. I’m sure these guys want to create, and try catching that lightning in a bottle again.

Bringing back old ideas into the current game would probably be considered a failure for this current team, because it would be an acknowledgement that their system didn’t work.

These guys won’t learn. they are going down with the ship unless someone makes them walk the plank.

I can’t speak for PvP, but vendor gear was never for “all” PvE gear.

Vendor gear was always catch up gear.

If you were buying gear, it was because you weren’t powerful enough to do the current tier of content, and you didn’t get enough from the previous tier.

As was noted elsewhere, we had vendors in Legion. And we have vendors now in BfA. The expensive pieces are there for that magic special filler piece to complete you set, not as a standard mechanism of general gearing.
