Is this the only way to get worthwhile changes into the game? just have 100 topics about the same thing posted every day?
if so, here’s one.

Hopefully you inspire some horde to post this same thread because blizzard does not care about blue boys one bit
They just don’t care about gnomes. Everyone else gets screen time.
Give it to Alliance only if youre gonna give horde merc mode
But… but I like gnomes
I’m Horde! Give us ummm… actually, I don’t like dual spec. I don’t think it solves the problems it aims to solve, and it benefits some classes much more than some others.
Yes if I remember correctly you’re part of the lower cost respec crew… as I said earlier tonight this is fine as well just something to alleviate the chains of respec
Yeah, sort of. I’ve raised the points of where I believe dual spec falls short, and how lowering respec fees would solve more problems, here:
But, to be fair, we do know that lower respec fees are against the intended design of the game, at the time.
Of course, at the time, it wasn’t designed for gamers in 2021.
Even for the players of the time not too far from then, wrath, this change wasn’t frowned upon greatly. Sure some people said it killed class identity, but I’d argue that more people would try out certain roles from that trade off so it’s worthwhile. I doubt anyway tank players would stop tanking because it’s easier to switch to dps on a large scale, but maybe I’m wrong.
I mean, I’m pretty sure it happens for some. But, it wouldn’t be a point I would argue against dual spec.
I do think that tanks and healers might actually get the short end of the stick from dual spec versus pure DPS classes, since they may be required to keep 2 PVE specs for their raiding groups, and still incur respec fees for PVP.
Thanks for posting that link. Basically confirms what I’ve said before, that making respeccing inconvenient was very intentional back then. It’s a part of the game design, not an oversight.
I actually think that Blizzard has overall done a solid job of sticking to the stated goal of authenticity and refraining from making changes unless it’s to address an obvious, major problem. Paid boosts being the exception, of course, which was done purely for corporate greed.
IMO, the lack of dual spec wasn’t a major problem back then, and it’s not a major problem now. I think it’s only a problem in the minds of modern WoW players who are used playing with it, and feel like they can’t do without the ability to basically play two very different characters rolled into one, with a toggle switch.
But that’s not TBC, anymore than dungeon finder or pet battles. The game was not designed with that feature in mind. And it’s wholly unnecessary.
Dual spec doesnt exist until wrath
Pre-* WOTLK.
We can change this by adding it on Phase 2.
