Mods, please pin this thread so the anti dragonriding crowd can see it’s a skill issue that prevents them from being a dragonchad.

This isn’t establishing if you are gaining or losing altitude. You should do this with a side view so we can see the pitch of the dragon.

It’s really not hard. You can get anywhere from anywhere without landing or running out of vigor. idk where these asthmatic dragons are coming from.

You are overcomplicating things.
If you Skyward Ascent at the right angle, slighly less than 45 degrees. That alone is enough momentum to charge an entire vigor without moving up and down.

I made the video for people having trouble. telling them to angle at 45 degrees is just adding more confusion.

I would love to have a hover mode on the dragons so I can AFK in the air instead of finding the nearest safe mountain top when I need to run to the bathroom or something

In general, if there’s a downward slope, it’s not hard to generate vigor. I only struggle in like Thal or going West to East in Azure Span - severe uphill. It’s just not really possible to generate enough vigor to make it all the way without stopping.

You need two vigor to do get off the ground and start flying fast enough to do just that.
No one baited you. The thread title was clear…its about climbing perpetually with a single vigor charged.
I usually spam Skyward Ascent 6x and get so high up that I cruise the entire way.
The only issue I have with Dragon flying are herbs that bait me to land, do that 4 or 5 times my dragon will act like it has Asthma.
